Some fans have just discovered that the voice actress for The Last of Us Part II's Abby, Laura Bailey, also had some surprising voice roles in the franchise's first installment. In the lead up to the sequel's release last summer, crucial story details leaked online that culminated in a wave of backlash. Abby's character sat at the center of the controversy, due in large part to her role in a gut-wrenching narrative arc.

The character also drew the ire of so-called "fans" because of several other rumors that have since been proven false. It all piled up over a short period of time, eventually leading to the despicable behavior that saw Laura Bailey and Naughty Dog developers land on the receiving end of online abuse and death threats. However, there are many more who grew to appreciate both Abby and Bailey's portrayal, evidenced by her winning the award for Best Performance at last year's Game Awards.

Now, talk about Laura Bailey is picking up steam once more. Reddit user ZeldaLover2018 (via GamesRadar) posted a screenshot of the original The Last of Us' end credits as they appear in a video walkthrough from YouTuber Jacksepticeye. Laura Bailey's name is the first to pop up beneath "Voice Over Cast," which left the Redditor to wonder who the actress played in the 2013 title. Quite a few commenters were able to provide answers, noting that Bailey assumed the role of the newscaster who appears on Joel's TV screen in the prologue, a bystander in the Boston QZ, one of the soldiers who runs a fungal check on Joel, Ellie, and Tess, and, most interestingly, a nurse in the Salt Lake hospital at the game's conclusion.

As always, players love discovering new details about their favorite games. The Last of Us' original entry was recently in the news for a similar reason, courtesy of what appeared to be a well-hidden cordyceps Easter egg that players can find in the prologue. Who can say what other bits of randomness will catch the eye of fans in years to come?

For now, though, The Last of Us Part II players are patiently awaiting two pieces of news. One concerns a possible PlayStation 5 upgrade, specifically an update that allows the title to run at a smooth 60FPS. Naughty Dog has also yet to announce its plans for a new version of Factions, the franchise's multiplayer component.
