The Last Ship was produced by Michael Bay, so it featured lots of explosions to go alongside the drama. The Last Ship ultimately lasted for five seasons and gained a real following. That said, while plenty of cast members survived the finale, it ended on a satisfying and conclusive note, so a revival series looks doubtful.

Since The Last Ship came to a close in 2018 Eric Dane has moved on to teen drama Euphoria, starring Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home) - who became the young actress to win a Best Actress Emmy for her work on the show - and Maude Apatow. Rhona Mitra - whose character Rachel Scott left the show during the second season - has since appeared in Hard Target 2 alongside Scott Adkins and played Mercy Graves during season 4 of The CW's Supergirl.
