Where can The Last Ship be found online, and is it on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon Prime? The Last Ship is loosely based on a 1988 novel by author William Brinkley, with the TNT adaptation following the crew of the USS Nathan James that returns from maneuvers to find the world has been transformed due to a lethal virus. Dr. Scott (Rhona Mitra, Strike Back) was secretly embedded with the ship in hopes of finding a cure to the virus, and she must work with Commander Chandler (Eric Dane) to literally save the world.

Of course, the voyage of the USS Nathan James is anything but smooth sailing and they have to fend off attacks from crazed survivors to foreign powers hoping to steal Scott's research. The Last Ship was produced by Michael Bay, so it featured lots of explosions to go alongside the drama. The Last Ship ultimately lasted for five seasons and gained a real following. That said, while plenty of cast members survived the finale, it ended on a satisfying and conclusive note, so a revival series looks doubtful.

All five seasons of The Last Ship are also available to purchase from Google Play and Vudu from prices starting at $15.99, while various seasons can also be found on Amazon and iTunes. The Last Ship was notable for changing up its formula, with season 3 onwards dealing with the charged world that evolves after a cure for The Red Flu is discovered. Some major characters were also killed across the show's run, with the USS Nathan James itself meeting its end in the final season.

Since The Last Ship came to a close in 2018 Eric Dane has moved on to teen drama Euphoria, starring Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home) - who became the young actress to win a Best Actress Emmy for her work on the show - and Maude Apatow. Rhona Mitra - whose character Rachel Scott left the show during the second season - has since appeared in Hard Target 2 alongside Scott Adkins and played Mercy Graves during season 4 of The CW's Supergirl.
