A very positive update on The Last of Us season 2 from Bella Ramsey indicates it is likely on the way. Ramsey plays Ellie, a teenage girl born into a worldwide apocalypse that is brought on after the Cordyceps fungus evolves to infect human beings. Within days, the majority of the globe has been converted into fungus-driven zombies, and Ellie grows up as an orphan in a Quarantine Zone. Yet, after being bitten by an infected zombie, she discovers she is immune to Cordyceps, and is placed into the care of Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) as he tries to get her to scientists who can use her natural immunity to develop a cure.
As an adaptation, The Last of Us is a game-accurate depiction of a world gone to hell, and Ellie and Joel are right in the middle of the chaos. With its ominous atmosphere, cunning sense of humor, and its willingness to delve deep into the origins of a deadly and world-shattering pandemic, the show doesn't seem afraid to take risks. Now, in an interview with the BBC, Ramsey is proving those risks really have paid off, as she indicates the show is likely to get a season 2. Check out her quote below:

Why The Last Of Us Will Likely Get A Season 2 Renewal

The Last of Us is proving that video game adaptations are not always guaranteed to be poor films and shows, and that they can draw numbers if done well. The quality of The Last of Us has seen such support that it temporarily broke a long-standing Breaking Bad record by becoming the #1 TV show on IMDb for days, before the AMC series clawed its way back to the top. Still, it has earned massive critical acclaim, and its viewership numbers are only continuing to rise. With that in mind, it's no surprise that Ramsey believes The Last of Us season 2 is on the way.
