During a recent playthrough of The Last of Us Part 2, one intrepid TikToker discovered a seemingly previously under the radar Supernatural Easter egg, hidden within the vast map of Seattle. The Last of Us Part 2 released in the summer of 2020 and even though it has been out now for several months, gamers are still finding new or re-surfacing inclusions from Naughty Dog hidden within the game, especially as more players enjoy the game on PlayStation 5.

The Last of Us Part 2 is undeniably a grim story. With a focus on revenge, death, and suffering running through the game’s narrative, it can be heavy going. Laura Bailey, the voice actress behind the character of Abby Anderson, has admitted that even filming the emotional scenes for the game left her with a lot of negative energy. Thankfully, Naughty Dog offers some moments of light relief during the game. Be this in more playful flashback scenes that are relayed as the story progresses, or with the vast range of Easter eggs hidden throughout the game's world.

One gamer shared an amusing (yet still grizzly) Easter egg that they discovered on a recent playthrough of The Last of Us Part 2. Cringelizard shared their discovery of what appears to be the bodies of two of the stars from TVs Supernatural on TikTok. While progressing through the Seattle Convention Centre with Dina and Ellie - making references to comic conventions - players can engage in an optional fight, at the end of which they will find “a very well stocked corpse” on the edge of a ledge. This corpse holds a letter that states that he was “on his way to relieve Misha at the monorail lookout,” and it is signed off “Jensen.” Putting two and two together, Cringelizard surmised that this corpse must be that of Supernatural actor Jensen Ackles, and the Misha referred to in the letter was probably his co-star Misha Collins. This discovery led to Cringelizard venture forth and search for the monorail mentioned in Jensen’s letter, in order to find the body of Misha.

Jensen Ackles as Dean and Misha Collins as Castiel in Supernatural

And find it they did. Within the final car of the monorail, Cringelizard finds a bloody corpse. In a third and final TikTok video, Cringelizard investigates the newly discovered corpse further to reveal a note with instructions addressed to “Misha,” concluding that the deceased is, as suspected, Misha Collins. The discovery of the bodies - which don't actually look like the actors - fits in that the official Supernatural convention circuit hosted by Creation Entertainment does include Seattle, explaining why Jensen and Misha would have been there. No mention of Jared Padalecki though...

While this is surfacing now thanks to the TikTok stories being picked up - shortly after the series finale of Supernatural's impressive 15-season run, mind you - it was found by others this summer. It was even confirmed by Naughty Dog Casting Director Becky Dodd.

Other fun Easter eggs hidden throughout the world of The Last of Us Part 2 include a copy of Naughty Dog’s hugely popular Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, along with a PlayStation 3. This particular Easter egg does contradict a fan theory that suggests that Uncharted and The Last of Us take place in the same universe (something that is further backed up by the inclusion of Nathan Drake’s Sic Parvis Magna ring in TLOU2), but it is still a fun nod to a previous generation of gaming.

While fans of Supernatural may not be quite so delighted to find the bloody corpses of their on-screen heroes littering Seattle, it is an amusing discovery to surface again weeks after the show ended.
