Golden Globe winner Robin Wright faces the wild in Land, an upcoming drama which marks Wright’s feature-length directorial debut. Wright is well-known for her role as Claire Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards, earning plaudits and a slew of nominations for her lead performance, but she’s still stepped behind the camera to direct ten episodes of the series over the course of its run. The actress also helmed The Dark of Knight, a 2017 short film that stars Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell.

Making the jump to the big screen with Land, Wright pulls double duty. In addition to helming the drama, she plays the lead character of Edee Holzer. In the wake of an unspeakable event, Edee finds that she’s unable to remain connected to the world she once knew and decides to escape into the wilderness. The new trailer, from Focus Features, teases a number of harrowing scenes but also strikes a hopeful tone. You can check it out below.
