Lala Kent of Vanderpump Rules clapped back at her castmate Scheana Shay's accusation that Kent was not a supportive friend during Shay's miscarriage earlier this year. Kent is not holding back from telling fans what she really thinks of Shay.
While Kent and Shay were fast friends when Kent first joined the cast of Vanderpump Rules in season four, their friendship seems to be at a crossroads. Shay, who has been open about freezing her eggs in her quest to become a mother, suffered a miscarriage this summer after unexpectedly becoming pregnant. On her podcast Scheananigans With Scheana Shay, Shay revealed that while she was miscarrying, she called Kent and asked her to come over. According to Shay, Kent decided to attend a "dinner with celebrities" rather than rushing to Shay's side.
On September 26, Kent took to her Instagram stories to share her side of the story. In a typed note on a black background, Kent claimed that Shay never directly asked her to come over, instead asserting that Shay "has an idea of how everyone should react in certain situations. We usually always fail and she is left disappointed." Kent also called attention to the fact that Shay's boyfriend (and rumored fiancé) Brock Davies was more to blame because he "said he was working, turned off his phone, and went golfing that day." Kent took issue with Shay claiming that Kent chose to spend time with celebrities instead of supporting her friend, clapping back with, "Girl, weren't you just capitalizing off banging John Mayor [sic] 100 years ago?" The reality star seemed frustrated with her former friend's behavior, stating that Shay "has a way of making everything about her... her relationships are always a train wreck that make epic TV. She makes reality TV gold."
Kent and Shay's feud turned public when Shay revealed that she was not present at Kent's recent gender reveal because she hadn't been invited. The drama emerges in the wake of several pregnancy announcements from the cast, including Kent, Brittany Cartwright, and former cast member Stassi Schroeder. Shay has remained quiet about her own personal life on social media until now, instead teasing an engagement by posting a photo with a ring on her left hand.
While Vanderpump Rules usually films during the summer, production is currently on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. Original cast member Katie Maloney-Schwartz has revealed that she has "no idea" whether or not the show will return.
