Star of Keeping Up with the KardashiansKylie Jenner accused of cultural appropriation for wearing hair in twists. This is not the first time will it be the last time the young beauty finds herself in hot water when it comes to her fashion decision.

The youngest billionaire, according to Forbes magazine, has tried her hand at many different projects in her life but has found her place among the cosmetics industry after launching Kylie Cosmetics in 2015. The makeup mogul has built her empire off of her billion-dollar beauty company, which started with her signature Kylie Cosmetic Lip Kits. Kylie Cosmetics has branched off to Kylie Skin, which was released earlier this year. The youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan she is no stranger to receiving heat for her actions. Back in October of 2019, her fans accused her of being overindulgent when she bought a Bugatti after her recent breakup.

Now the 22-year-old has been accused of cultural appropriation (again) for wearing hair twists in a new photoshoot. The Keeping Up with the Kardashians starlet took to her social media to share a photo that showed her in the look that was inspired by the 90's pop star Gwen Stefani. Though fans didn't take it that way and instead took the braids as appropriating the black community. After many fans attacked her and questioned her ethics, Jenner deleted the post but fans were already upset. One fan commented on the fact that the reality star would like to be black so badly, while another accused her of trying to claim another trend that was never hers. One Twitter follower even went as far as to say Jenner’s look was not a compliment because her people were still losing jobs and viewed as ghetto even though white people see it as fashion. After the backlash, Kylie deleted the photo, but the fashion photographers, the Morelli Brothers, kept the post up - which can be seen below.

Since the incident, Jenner had not addressed the major backlash. Though some fans argue that while these small twist braids are usually associated with the black community, it's fashion and self-expression that should be allowed to be worn by all. Though this isn't the first time a Kardashian or Jenner has been in trouble for being accused of cultural appropriation. In fact, this is the third incident for Jenner, a couple of months ago the reality star was attacked for wearing cornrows. This hairstyle has also historically been tied to black culture and fans called her out for poor judgment.

Fans were quick to point out that white women do not have to face the same discrimination as a black woman who would choose to wear the hairstyle. However, at the end of the day hair is just hair, and can be used as an expression of one’s unique self. Hopefully, Jenner and her other Keeping Up with the Kardashians fans can open up a platform to speak about what certain trends mean to them as a community and start the healing process without anger and hate.
