Tristan Thompson is reportedly trying to put a gag order on Maralee Nichols amid the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star's latest scandal. With Maralee's paternity lawsuit against Tristan becoming public, the NBA player is working to perform damage control behind the scenes. Tristan wants to silence Maralee in an attempt to control the narrative of the newest shocking allegations against him. In addition to being put on blast for cheating on Khloe Kardashian during their short-lived reconciliation, Tristan also possibly fathered his third child with a third baby mama.
Khloe and Tristan are back in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. Despite being broken up since June, new revelations detailed Tristan's hookup with another woman while he was reconciled with Khloe. It was on his 30th birthday when Tristan went to a hotel and slept with Maralee twice. He claimed they only slept together that night and the next morning. But she claimed the fling lasted longer. With Maralee suing Tristan over allegations that he is the father of a baby boy she gave birth to last week, Tristan is back in the hot seat for his history of cheating on Khloe.
But considering the seriousness of the scandal, Tristan is hoping to handle things privately and avoid details leaking to the press. Over the week, Tristan filed an emergency petition in Houston, Texas, to place a gag order on Maralee, TMZ reports. Tristan pointed out that Maralee violated a confidentiality order they received when she first filed the paternity suit. Tristan believes Maralee has been speaking to the press and posting false information on social media pertaining to the case and about him and his family online. The Sacramento Kings player thinks Maralee used Snapchat to create fabricated messages that she claimed came from Tristan. But he said they're all lies. Tristan thinks Maralee is doing all of this "to achieve some sort of notoriety and gain for herself in this lawsuit," the documents stated.
Tristan is hoping a judge will approve the gag order and keep the remainder of their proceeding a secret, including if Tristan turns out to be the father or any evidence submitted by either side. Tristan also wants the court to sanction Maralee for the alleged leaks, which would force her to shell out $30,000 in the event she breaks the confidentiality order. Recent screenshots showed alleged text messages where Tristan claimed that he would not be present in the child's life if he is the father. He also allegedly said he was planning to retire from the NBA so that if Maralee went after his money, she wasn't going to get it. Maralee has relocated from Texas to Los Angeles to file the suit and be closer to Tristan in the event he is the father.
Meanwhile, Khloe is remaining silent about the allegations as the public bashes her for seemingly appearing patient with Tristan. Insiders said Khloe wants to speak with Maralee but is waiting to give her time to heal. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians family is just as anxious as fans are in waiting for the paternity results. If Tristan is the father, it'll be his third with a third woman. During his reconciliation with Khloe, they were planning on welcoming a second child together. But now it looks like Tristan might've followed through on the plans, just with someone else.
