Keeping Up With the Kardashians viewers have seen Scott Disick encounter some major obstacles throughout the years. He's been in and out of rehab for years, but it surprised fans to hear that Scott had checked into a Colorado facility for substance abuse. Upon his release, more information has been released.
Both of Scott's parents died within a short timespan. He cheated on Kourtney Kardashian, the mother of his three children, which ultimately led to their breakup. During the early Keeping Up with the Kardashian days, there were plenty of episodes with Lord Disick living it up on the club scene. Later on, he addressed his issues with drinking and other party behavior, which included a couple of rehab stints. Then, he seemingly turned his life around, getting into a serious relationship with Sofia Richie and flipping houses. He really seemed to be thriving. However, he had some struggles behind the scenes. Unfortunately for Scott, those struggles were leaked to the public before he was ready to address things himself.
On May 4, Daily Mail was the first to report that Scott checked himself into a Colorado rehab facility "for alcohol and cocaine abuse." The outlet shared a photo of him a the facility during a group meeting and claimed that the reality TV star had been "drinking heavily and taking cocaine" during the coronavirus lockdown. Allegedly, Scott "struggled with family life" during the pandemic in addition to "having a hard time coping with the loss of both his parents." Scott's mom Bonnie Disick passed away in late 2013 and his dad Jeff Disick died in January 2014. After Daily Mail leaked the rehab news, E!, the same network that airs Keeping Up with the Kardashians, confirmed that Scott checked into the Colorado rehab. The outlet reported, "He had a lot of guidance from Kourtney Kardashian and she demanded that he get help." An inside source claimed, "Things have been bad the last couple of weeks and Kourtney won't allow him around the kids unless he gets treatment."
Hours later, TMZ reported that Scott checked out of rehab and that he "is enraged he's been betrayed by the rehab facility" and plans to sue. Scott's lawyer Marty Singer denied the allegations that Scott went to rehab for cocaine and alcohol abuse. The attorney explained, "In an effort to finally come to terms and deal with the pain that Scott has been silently suffering for many years due to the sudden death of his mother, followed by the death of his father 3 months later, Scott made the decision to check himself into a rehab facility last week to work on his past traumas." Apparently, quarantining gave him the time to reflect and realize that he should reach out for help. Scott's lawyer also said that the photo taken inside of the rehab is "an outrageous HIPAA violation."
Evidently, Scott feels that he is struggling enough to seek outside assistance. It is deplorable that someone would violate his privacy by taking photos of him during a group meeting. He went to the facility thinking he was in safe hands, but, instead, he was taken advantage of while he was already going through a tough time. Keeping Up with the Kardashians viewers have seen Scott struggling with his parents' passing in the most recent episode. That great loss is, apparently, still weighing heavily on him years later. Scott has always been so open about his life, sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly with his fans. If Scott wanted to keep one thing private, he should have been able to.
