Kourtney Kardashian doesn't plan on changing her last name after the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star gets married to Travis Barker. Following her recent engagement to the Blink-182 drummer, Kourtney is preparing for their big day and all the changes that will come with it. Since this will be her first time walking down the aisle, Kourtney has to consider if she will take her partner's last name as his wife. Alas, Kourtney has spent nearly two decades branding herself as a Kardashian.
Travis surprised Kourtney with a beachside proposal in Montecito, California following a romantic weekend in New York City. The couple has teased their plans of spending forever together and they moved forward by getting engaged. Unlike her two younger sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney is getting married for the first time. Kim added Kanye West's last name and still goes by Kim Kardashian West despite their ongoing divorce. Khloe still went by Kardashian while married to Lamar Odom but removed her middle name making her Khloe Kardashian Odom during their four-year marriage.
When it comes to Kris Jenner's daughters, they've been brought up to value the Kardashian name and know better than to drop it. "Kourtney has no intention of ever fully changing her last name from Kardashian," a source close to the family told Hollywood Life. "Kris lets the girls make their own decisions at the end of the day, but Kris has a business brain and would absolutely advise her against using the name, Barker." Like her sisters, Kourtney could hyphenate her name and become Kourtney Kardashian Barker because the Poosh founder knows how important it is to keep their late father's last name. The Kardashian sisters have helped maintain their father's name and carry his legacy. In addition, they've built multimillion-dollar careers for themselves as the Kardashians.
Kourtney is madly in love with Travis is not opposed to adding his last name to hers. "[Kourtney has] never been happier in her entire life and feels complete being with Travis, which is why she's not opposed to integrating his name into hers," the source shared. The couple has already started wedding planning and is looking to have an intimate "positive space" where those who have supported them from the beginning will be present. While there was some speculation that Kourtney and Travis would have a destination wedding, the rock star is still getting over his fear of flying so that might be off the table. Their main goal is to "enjoy their special day" together and they've already started "playing around with a few dates."
The holiday season is coming up and Kourtney and Travis have so much to celebrate and be grateful for. It'll be their first blended family Christmas with their six kids as an engaged couple. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum is also filming her new show for Hulu and is expected to share her engagement and aspects of her life with Travis on the new series.
