In this week's episode of the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kim Kardashian shared with Scott Disick that she is "hesitant" to tell her children about her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries. Despite being relatively transparent about the events of her family's glamorous Calabasas life over the past 20 seasons of the hit show, Kim does have some reservations about what information is shared with her young children. The businesswoman and reality star is a mother of four, sharing kids with her now-estranged husband, eccentric rapper Kanye West.

No strangers to controversy, the Kardashian family is typically compelled to address such issues head-on. In this case, however, the SKIMS founder says she is not ready to share the details surrounding her infamous 72-day marriage. Kim married Kris, then an NBA player, after a swift courtship that began in fall of 2010. The pair became engaged in May of 2011, ultimately getting married in August of the same year. The extravagant fairytale wedding was documented in a two-part wedding special that aired on E! two months after the couple tied the knot. Shortly after the special aired, it was made public that Kardashian had filed for divorce less than three months after the pair wed.

Speaking with former brother-in-law Scott Disick in Keeping Up With The Kardashians' newest episode, Kim said she is "hesitant" to share information about her previous marriage with her kids, saying, “I don’t really want to explain, like, who Kris Humphries is. As featured on the show and reported in Us Weekly, the two went on to discuss whether or not they will allow their children to watch any of the salacious installments documenting their lives. Scott countered Kim’s reluctance, saying, “That is your life. That is your past. At some point, they’re going to be interested in seeing everything.” Scott went on to note that due to the high-profile nature of the family's headline-snagging drama, the kids are likely to seek out or be exposed to the information with or without the involvement of their parents in the process. Kim acquiesced, saying, “I’d rather do it with [them]. I’d rather be that parent. But I’m just not ready.

KUWTK's Scott himself has been at the center of controversy many times, with his alcohol-fueled, over-the-top hijinks and collection of increasingly younger girlfriends frequently making headlines. In a 2017 appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Kim elaborated on the details of her hasty engagement and stunted transition to marital life, which she noted was marred by issues since the pair's honeymoon. Speaking with host Andy Cohen, she confessed, “At the time, I just thought, ‘Holy s***, I’m 30 years old, I better get this together. I better get married.’ I think a lot of girls do go through that, where they freak out thinking they’re getting old and all their friends are having kids. So it was more of that situation. But I knew on the honeymoon it wasn’t going to work out.

Since its debut in 2007, the series has documented the ups and downs of the wealthy family, including a number of significant life changes as a result of their meteoric rise to fame. Over the past 20 seasons, fans have borne witness to fallout surrounding infidelity, irresistibly compelling Kardashian family squabbles and the expansion of the brood as the sisters have welcomed children of their own. The series has also explored the foray of the show’s stars into various business endeavors, including Kim’s billion-dollar beauty brand KKW Beauty, Khloe’s Good American Jeans and Kourtney’s lifestyle blog Poosh. While the show depicts partially-scripted, highly-stylized version of the family's life, by and large the show is a testament to the strong bonds of family and, above all else, their collective, unyielding penchant for capitalizing on drama.

KUWTK star Kim is once again at the center of a public separation, this time from husband Kanye, She announced in February that she would be divorcing the rapper after seven years. Both are seeking joint legal and physical custody of their four children: North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm. Tensions between the two will likely continue to rise, considering Kanye’s past bombastic behavior and Kim’s shrewd maneuvers to control the media narrative following the split. After reigning supreme for over a decade, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is finally drawing to a close. If the past is any indication, fans are very likely to see some of this drama play out on screen.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians airs Thursdays at 8pm on E!
