Kendall Jenner and NBA player Devin Booker went on a four-day vacation in Idaho where they met up with Justin Bieber and his wife Hailey. Eyewitnesses report that Devin Booker, the 23-year-old point guard from Michigan who currently plays for the Phoenix Suns and Kendall Jenner the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and model stayed at a lakeside home along with a group of friends.
They enjoyed a bunch of fun summer activities such as jet skiing and swimming. Looking at Jenner’s Instagram would make most of us envious of her summer lake trip. Who knew that Idaho was a popular summer destination for the rich and famous? On one of the days of their trip, Jenner and Booker met up with Justin and Hailey Bieber. The four of them spent time together playing golf and tennis. Another eyewitness reported that it seemed as if they were all close friends and knew each other quite well.
Apparently, Jenner and Booker are "not serious" and are "just having fun together." This may not come as a surprise for those trying to keep up with the supermodel’s dating life. What may be surprising to fans is that they broke California’s non-essential travel ban to enjoy a few days of fun in the sun. According to the California government “All individuals living in the State of California are currently ordered to stay home or at their place of residence, except for permitted work, local shopping or other permitted errands, or as otherwise authorized.” Do celebrities get a free pass on such restrictions that the rest of us must follow?
It certainty seems the case, as they are not trying to hide the fact that they went on a non-essential out-of-state vacation. The United States is currently at the forefront of a major global pandemic, and if we let our celebrities get away with disobeying our government’s orders, what kind of message are we sending to our fellow Americans as well as to the rest of the world? This is increasingly important as we are living in an already divided nation and the whole world follows US celebrities so closely.
