Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kanye West has reportedly always been against the idea of Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson being with Kim Kardashian. Kim filed for divorce in February 2021 and was seen with Pete shortly after. Since the divorce proceedings began, Kanye has been open about his feelings regarding the situation.
The controversial celebrity duo first got together around 2012 and welcomed their first child, North West, into the world in 2013. Kim and Kanye got married in 2014 and have since had three more children. Throughout their time together, both off-screen and on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, their relationship faced a number of obstacles. Tensions between the two continued to grow, and the couple had an argument in December 2020 that inevitably led to Kim filing for divorce in February 2021. Shortly after the split was announced, Kim hosted SNL, where she appeared alongside Pete. While Kanye was reportedly supportive of Kim's appearance on SNL at the time, he has made several criticisms of Pete since the two were first seen with one another. Most recently, Kanye released a song in which he stated that he wanted to punch Pete.
Now a source close to the Grammy winner tells People that Kanye continues to be upset by Pete and Kim's relationship with one another. According to the inside source, Kanye has "struggled" amid continuous reports of the comedian being seen smiling with his ex-wife. "It's very hard for him that Kim has moved on. This is something he has struggled with since Kim started dating Pete. He never pretended he was happy about it," the source claimed.
The source added that, despite Kanye's clear animosity towards Pete, his issue with the situation doesn't revolve entirely around the SNL star and can largely be attributed to Kanye being uncomfortable seeing his ex with someone else in general, saying "[Kanye] doesn't want Kim to date Pete. Or anyone else." The source went on to say that Kanye believes he and Kim are still married despite the former couple having both been seen with new partners, saying, "[Kanye] always thought Kim was gonna change her mind about the divorce. His whole life is in turmoil." Kanye is reportedly attempting to focus on his job and his new girlfriend, Julia Fox, in an effort to keep his mind off the divorce.
Some fans of Keeping Up With The Kardashians likely felt that divorce between the wealthy business moguls was fairly inevitable, but others question the motivations of both Kim and Kanye moving on so quickly and so publicly. While Julia has claimed things are real between her and Kanye, his repeated chaotic and public attempts at winning Kim back, along with an inside source's claims that he is dating Julia as a means of distraction, don't seem to support the notion that the new couple will last. Kanye insisted that the two will be back together in due time, but it seems he has only succeeded in scaring Kim away.
