Addison Rae is getting called out by Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans who think she wore one of Kourtney Kardashian's old dresses to the Met Gala. The TikTok star turned Hollywood influencer made her debut at the Met Gala and wore a red dress that looked extremely similar to one Kourtney has worn for Christmas. Leave it up to the Kardashian fans to call Addison out for the fashion snafu. Needless to say, Addison's Met Gala look didn't go unnoticed.
Kourtney has been criticized for befriending Addison due to their 22-year age gap. Old enough to be Addison's mother, Kourtney befriended the 20-year-old social influencer after Addison befriended Kourtney's eldest son Mason Disick. While helping Mason get adjusted to the TikTok scene, Kourtney took a liking to the young star, and they started hanging out a lot. After sharing pics of them in thong bikinis and having fun together, spectators started to question how a 42-year-old mother of three could be friends with someone so young. But Addison credits Kourtney for being a mentor to her and helping to guide her as she rose to fame.
While making her Met Gala red carpet debut at the start of the week, Addison wore a red Gucci dress that a number of fans thought she borrowed from Kourtney. Her gown looked strikingly similar to the dress Kourtney wore for Christmas in 2019. "Addison Rae really showed up in the Shein version of Kourtney Kardashian's Christmas party dress," 2 Mayaz tweeted. "Addison borrowing Kourtney's dress for the met is sending me," added someone else. While both dresses are different, they both come from the 2003 Tom Ford for Gucci collection, hence why they look exactly the same.
Earlier in the day, Addison teased her Met Gala look by highlighting a few of her celebrity inspirations. In a series of posts, the He's All That star posted pictures of Marilyn Monroe, Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, and Britney Spears, all wearing red gowns. But Kourtney wasn't included in the lineup. While many onlookers might think Kourtney let Addison borrow her old holiday look, that's not the case. Both stars have elevated their styles in the last year since they became friends. With Kourtney and Addison both dating musicians, it makes sense why they've added more grunge to their outfits.
While Addison attended the Met Gala, Kourtney decided not to attend. Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans were hopeful Kourtney and Travis Barker would make another appearance after making their red carpet debut the night before at the Video Music Awards. But it looks like Kourtney didn't want to steal all the shine away from her friend Addison. She left her sisters Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner to do the job for her. Kim's shadowy look became all the rave on social media, along with Kendall's sheer dress. Pregnant Kylie Jenner decided to stay home, and Kourtney and Travis opted for an NYC date night instead.
