Keeping Up With the Kardashians former power couple Kim Kardashian and Kayne West have been battling it out over 4-year-old Chicago's birthday, with Kayne hosting his own get-together right after Kim's event. Since Kim filed for divorce last February, the socialite and musician have been involved in several public fallouts. Kayne, now known as "Ye", has been quick to talk about his estranged wife to the press, whether it means throwing her under the bus or begging her to come back. On the other hand, Kim has been relatively quiet about their separation.

West may have purchased a million-dollar house across the street from Kim and his children a couple of weeks ago to be closer, but that hasn't stopped the rapper from traveling the country with actress Julia Fox. West and Julia, who is known for starring in the 2019 film Uncut Gems, were first linked together at the end of 2021; they were seen celebrating the new year with dinner in Miami. Days later, the two were spotted in NYC for a broadway and dinner date. Returning home to California to no doubt wish Chicago a happy birthday, Ye publically blasted his ex-wife on Instagram on January 15th for reportedly not giving up the address to her birthday party. Hours later, photos of Ye at the party surfaced; he later claimed that Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott were to thank.

Despite West's dramatic rant on social media, an insider for Page Six says that there was a game plan all along—two parties, one hosted by each parent, were to be held back to back. The source revealed, “He was always having his own party for Chicago. He had it at 4 p.m. at his office downtown [in Los Angeles] that he planned, so it’s so frustrating he crashed Kim’s party and created this narrative that he wasn’t invited." Multiple individuals also told Page Six that Kim Kardashian was surprised by Ye's accusations, with one saying, “Kim has made every effort to invite and include Kanye for every event." Since Kim has said that she does not want to keep West away from their children herself, viewers find the past 48 hours for these two especially confusing.

With another insider for Page Six confirming that West took the kids from Kim's birthday party at 12 pm to his own at 4 pm, the news differs from Ye's version of events. In the video, West insinuated that he was being kept away from Kim's house and the celebrations because her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, was there. Regardless of her estranged husband's antics, Kim and the rest of the family seemed to take the day in stride. In a sweet montage posted to Instagram, Kim wished Chicago a happy birthday. Kayne is noticeably absent from the collection of photos, especially the last one featuring Kim and the children on a beach.

Kayne West, Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, and Julia Fox have a complicated four-way connection. While Julia and West have been spending time with other celebrities like Madonna, the rapper has also been busy creating music. One track, in particular, features Ye threatening to attack PeteKeeping Up With the Kardashians is done after providing 20 seasons' worth of moments, but the drama for this large family is bound to keep brewing. Viewers desperate to catch the Kardashians on-screen again should check out Hulu's upcoming spin-off The Kardashians.
