The first full trailer for Syfy's Superman prequel TV show Krypton explores the connection between Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe) and his grandson, in addition to introducing the conspiracy to prevent Superman's birth, and space hero Adam Strange, played by Shaun Sipos.

Developed by David S. Goyer and Damien Kindler, Krypton takes viewers to Superman's home planet, several decades before it destruction. The story will follow the journey of Superman's grandfather, Seg-El, who must struggle to redeem the honor of his family, the House of El. Despite Krypton's leadership being in disarray, Seg-El is faced with a new problem when he learns of a conspiracy from the future to prevent the birth of his grandson.

At the Television Critics Association, Syfy unveiled the first full trailer for Krypton, giving viewers a better idea of what the series has in store for Cameron Cuffe's Seg-El. The trailer also offers fans their first look at Adam Strange, an important DC Comics character who's been around since 1957.Though living in a world of superheroes, Strange is more a science fiction hero in the style of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon than a traditional superhero (a la Superman and Batman).

In the trailer, Strange, dressed like an ordinary person from modern times, tells Seg-El that "someone from the future is coming to destroy Krypton." We are shown a glimpse of a creature that could possibly be the android known as Brainiac. The classic Superman villain will appear in the series played by Blake Ritson. Strange appears to be holding Superman's iconic cape while explaining to Seg-El that his grandson will become "the greatest hero in the universe." As Strange walks away, Seg-El is left to ponder his words while looking down at his grandson's cape.

The trailer, loaded with special effects and violence, presents viewers with a story that will "change a legend." We know from the Krypton synopsis that Seg-El will learn about his planet's fate and may be offered a chance to save his people. Seg-El may be forced to choose between saving Krypton and saving a grandson that hasn't even been born yet.

From the looks of things, Krypton is going to be much more than just a story that explores Superman mythology and the history of the House of El. By putting the focus on this conspiracy from the future and time travel, Krypton could rewrite history for Superman's home planet.
