There's not a soul in the world who wouldn't benefit from having a godmother. The same is true of Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars Kylie and Kendall Jenner, who are always receiving great advice from their godmother Kathie Lee Gifford. But who is Kathie Lee, and what is her role in the Kardashian-Jenner family?
Kathie is a TV personality and author. She is known for her 15 years long run in Live! with Regis and Kathie Lee. She first met the famous momager, Kris Jenner, in California almost 40 years ago. It was around the same time in the 1970s when the two soon became the best of friends. The 67-year-old reality TV celeb has revealed that the two would go to Bible study together. She said, "We became very, very close friends. She was still married to Robert, and the children were tiny."
Kris's friend Kathie isn't just a TV personality. She's also tagged as a singer, songwriter, and occasional actress. She left her talk show host career in 2019 to be an actress, director, and producer. In the future, she wishes to make films that would focus on a widow's life. Kathie was once married to Paul Johnson, a creator of Christian music but later divorced the man in 1982. Soon after, she married former NFL player Frank Gifford and has since been with the man till his last breath. Kathie is active on Instagram and has around 469K followers. But why many Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans are hearing about her lately. The reason for that is the thoughtful advice that she gave to her uber-popular goddaughters. Before her sage-like advice (via Cheat Sheet), Kathie Lee revealed that she didn't really get a lot of time to spend with the supermodel and beauty mogul because she moved away from California when they were little. However, Kathie Lee still thinks of them as the same and gives them the advice to stay true to themselves. She says, "I would tell them, first of all, 'Stay close to God' — and sometimes they do!" She continued, "I would tell them to be true to themselves, and that's about it. That's what I'd tell anybody." It seems like Kathie Lee has it all sorted with her age and experience and truly wants to share her wisdom with her goddaughters. She goes on to say that Kylie and Kendall weren't the famous millionaires when they came into the world, essentially saying, "They were just my dear friend's children. That's what celebrities are anyway, at the end of the day. We're just people."
Despite her age and wisdom, the godmother of Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars has a good great sense of humor as well. While she's lived a great life with her husband and has his surname as well, nothing is stopping her from joking about dating a man. In a humorous tone (via People), Mrs. Gifford has said, "I'm just looking for a guy that's got real teeth," but at the same time, she's also said, "I don't expect any man ever to fill my husband's cleats.
