A new set video from the upcoming Sony Marvel film Kraven the Hunter shows the character in the middle of a car chase action scene. The film, which is currently set for release on January 13, 2023, is the next step in Sony's cinematic universe of Spider-Man villains that began with Venom and its sequel Let There Be Carnage and will continue with the Jared Leto-starring Morbius, coming this April. Kraven is being directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year) from a script by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, who co-wrote 2008's MCU-defining film Iron Man.

Kraven the Hunter will follow the titular villain, who is also known as Sergei Kravinoff. He is a Russian hunter whose goal in life is to prove his prowess by hunting down the most dangerous game - Spider-Man himself. In addition to being the half-brother of the other Spider-Man villain Chameleon, he is one of the original members of the notorious evil collective the Sinister Six. The star who will be portraying him in the movie is Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is no stranger to comic book properties, having played the title character in the Kick-Ass movies and Scarlet Witch's twin brother Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Kraven the Hunter fan account on Twitter called KravenSource posted a video from the set of the film. Although the video is taken from a faraway vantage point, it's clearly visible that a long-haired figure - presumably Johnson himself or his stunt double - is hanging off the side of a moving car. After action is called, he begins punching in the driver's side window while moving down the street. Additional videos in the thread show the event as captured from several different angles. Kraven the Hunter will also feature more villains from Spider-Man's past. This includes Fred Hechinger, who was cast as Chameleon, Ariana DeBose as Calypso, as well as Russell Crowe and Alessandro Nivola in unspecified roles. The most recent casting coup is the addition of Christopher Abbott, most likely playing The Foreigner.

From the looks of things, Kraven the Hunter will be another big blockbuster that uses its budget to its fullest potential. Although in practice, seeing the shoot makes the car chase seem rather slow-paced, once it is edited and the visual effects are applied, it's certain to look quite dynamic. While almost nothing is currently known about the actual plot of the film just yet, it looks like audiences should prepare to be taken on a high-octane urban adventure.
