Prolific artist Bosslogic has revealed a new work displaying what Aaron Taylor-Johnson may look like in Sony Pictures' Kraven the Hunter film. The Marvel Cinematic Universe alum recently signed on to star as the big-game hunter from Spider-Man's rogues' gallery. The self-titled film will mark the first live-action film or television appearance of the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko-created character since his comic book debut in 1964's The Amazing Spider-Man No. 15.

Attempts at bringing Kraven to the big screen have actually occurred a number of times, with his iconic spear making an appearance in the post-credits scene of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 to tease his future arrival in both Sony's Sinister Six and Amazing Spider-Man 3 films before their cancellations. Black Panther writer/director, Ryan Coogler, has also stated that he intended to introduce the character to the MCU with his film, but he couldn't due to Sony holding the rights to the character. With the studio's solo Venom film proving to be a box office success, it helped launch the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters, which will include Kraven alongside the Jared Leto-starring Morbius and a number of other projects.

On the heels of the news Taylor-Johnson signed on to star in the film, Bosslogic took to Instagram to reveal artwork he's drawn up of the 30-year-old actor as the comic book character. Complete with his large sniper rifle and iconic lion fur jacket, the artist brings a meld of comic book accuracy and real life nature to the character. Bosslogic's artwork can be viewed below:

Bosslogic has frequently been celebrated for his work of combining iconic characters and actors together, even as recently as imagining Nick Offerman as Omni-Man from Amazon's adaptation of Invincible. His concept of finding a comics-faithful approach to bringing Kraven to life with Taylor-Johnson in the role while also making a few modifications to bring him in line with the grounded nature of live-action, certainly displays how well the star should be able to bring him to life on screen. Given the work put into bringing Venom to life faithfully in his 2018 film, it would be hard to think Sony's own concept art for the film isn't taking a similar approach to Kraven.

Though the SPUMC may have gotten off to a rough start with Venom — and coming up with its name — the early critical reception has been taken to heart by Tom Hardy and his creative team for the film and therefore, likely at Sony as well. While some might still be concerned over the film's potential given Spider-Man still hasn't been properly established in the universe, making the value of these villainous characters questionable to some fans, having Triple Frontier director, J.C. Chandor, at the helm and Uncharted duo, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, penning the script, there's certainly a chance for Kraven the Hunter to be a hit. For now, fans will have to wait and see until more is revealed between now and the film's 2023 release date.
