Kourtney Kardashian has decided to take a step away from Keeping Up With the Kardashians in order to focus on her children. Although the star says she's not saying goodbye, she also made it clear that the show isn't her priority right now.

It's not the first time the oldest Kardashian sister has brought up the idea of leaving the show. Back in September, she talked about taking a step back in order to be with her three kids. While the show captures many of the family's positive moments, it also documents their never-ending drama. Right before Kourtney's September comments, she and Kim were shown in a massive fight during a recently aired episode. The sisterly relationship has had its ups and downs, most notably coming to a head last year when Kim told her older sister she was the "least interesting to look at." Kourtney also said she was struggling to determine boundaries between the show and real life, and didn't like filming taking precedence over the normal elements of her kids' days. According to recent comments, the star has finally made a decision regarding her future on the show.

In a November interview with ETKourtney clarified her current standing with the E! reality show... sort of. "I just decided to spend more time as a mom and put more of my energy there," the star said. "But I'm not saying goodbye." Kourtney followed up her comments by saying that viewers would get clearer view of her position on season 18, which is currently being filmed. When asked if the show could continue without the oldest member of the Kardashian clan, Khloé and Kim both seemed confident that the series would have a bright future. "We love Kourtney and we'll miss Kourtney and whatever she decides to do," Khloé said, "But people come, people go all the time in this family." Kim, on the other hand, suggested a Kim and Khloé spin-off in Calabasas. "We can live in the condo with all of our kids and see how that goes," Kim said.

Kourtney Kardashian on The Kardashians

Kourtney shares three children with ex Scott Disick: Mason, Penelope and Reign. In line with her desire to spend more time with her children, Kourtney has taken quite a few family vacations this year, including trips to Finland and Rome. Her travel also has an ulterior motive, if previous comments are to be believed. Back in May, Kourtney said that she has always wanted to move away someday and escape her life of stardom. She said she has a long list of places she's interested in living, and that each new destination allows her to check a potential new home off her list.

So is this the end of Kourtney on Keeping Up With the KardashiansIf we had to venture a guess, the answer would be no. While the sister obviously wants to escape from the pressures of the show, her familial ties to the series mean she'll likely always be involved in some form or another. However, the relationship between her and Kim seems to grow more strained with each passing day. The sisters have had multiple fights both onscreen and off. It's possible that their volatile relationship is a major part of Kourtney's frustration. Maybe a short break from each other would do both sisters, and the family as a whole, some good.
