Kourtney Kardashian "never expected" her baby daddy and Keeping Up With The Kardashians star Scott Disick's relationship with model Amelia Hamlin to last. After a whirlwind fight full of public drama, the duo have announced they decided to part ways after dating for nearly a year. Although Amelia and Scott flaunted their love on social media, they hit a rough patch after Scott's feelings regarding Kourtney's relationship with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker came to light. Scott and Kourtney share three kids together: Mason Dash Disick, Penelope Scotland Disick, and Reign Aston Disick.
The drama began just last week when Scott allegedly messaged Kourtney's most recent ex-boyfriend Younes Bendjima about feeling uncomfortable watching their mutual ex constantly display affection with her new beau all over social media. Feeling betrayed from Scott's previous statements about him at the Keeping Up With The Kardashians Reunion Special, Younes decided to leak the messages for the public eyes to read. Shortly after, Amelia cryptically posted a photo of herself wearing a top that read, "Don't you have a girlfriend?" That was just the beginning of the end for the lovebirds as in the last 24 hours, Scott and Amelia went from spending time apart to officially calling it quits. Insiders pointed out that Amelia made sure Scott understood her disappointment in his behaviors, all while Scott is allegedly still "mortified" by his released words.
Now that Scott's relationship is behind him, insiders tell E! News that unlike her ex, Kourtney is still focused on her own life and own relationships. "Kourtney didn't mind Amelia, but she never expected it to last," they said. "Kourtney is focused on her own life and her kids. Who Scott dates is not her problem. Her only concern is that Scott is an active and focused dad. She wants him to be the best dad he can be." However, insiders admit that Scott is struggling because Kourtney's relationship with Travis is distracting. "It's really hard on him and hard for him to see her in a very serious relationship." The source added that her newfound love would anger him so greatly that he would even vent about it to Amelia, despite her clear indications that the conversations were making her upset.
One of the reasons that Kourtney's relationship is so bothersome to Scott is because the more serious they get, the less likely chance the Talentless founder has at winning her back. The source said, "Scott knows that Kourtney is in it for the long haul with Travis, which means Scott no longer has a chance with her. It's a lot to digest and Scott still hasn't fully moved on." As for Amelia's part, the 20-year-old model was apparently the one who ended things because she felt like Scott just needed to be single and figure things out, a testament to which Scott agreed. "They had a lot of fun together, but it was never going to be a long-term relationship," the source said, adding that their break up was a long time coming.
Though breaks-ups are heartbreaking, it seems like friends of the former couple, as well as Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans agree that Scott and Amelia's demise was for the best. It's clear that Scott still has a lot of self-discovery to do as he figures out how to best cope with his everlasting split with Kourtney. As for Amelia, she's only 20-years-old and though she matured quickly in the public eye, she might be more successful dating someone around her own age.
