Keeping Up With The Kardashians alum Kourtney Kardashian is being slammed online after fans noticed something different about her daughter Penelope Disick on TikTok. The mother and daughter duo recently unveiled a joint TikTok account that has quickly gained over 2 million followers. Kourtney's sister Kim Kardashian even followed in their footsteps and launched a joint account on Thanksgiving with her daughter, Penelope's cousin and bestie North West that has seen similar instant success. So far, many of the short videos Penelope and North have made have gone viral... but not always for the best reasons.
The reaction to Penelope joining TikTok with her mom has been mixed. Many fans raved over Penelope's adorable style and enjoyed having an inside look at the lives of the lesser-known next generation of Kardashians. Other fans weren't as enamored with the account. A number of TikTok users noted the joint account creatively bypasses the platform's community guidelines, which requires users to be 13 years of age or older. Kourtney has opened up 9-year-old Penelope to criticism on the public platform and the Poosh CEO is now getting backlash over her daughter's latest TikTok.
The controversial TikTok video shows Penelope cracking a soda, enjoying her beverage over ice then sharing with her mom. The casual clip sees P exhibiting fairly normal behavior for a 9-year-old, but some TikTok users noticed something about the little girl's appearance looked a little too mature. In her video, Penelope sported long acrylic nails, a popular style among the Kardashian-Jenners.
TikTok users voiced their criticism of Penelope's grown-up look, Page Six reports. “P you’re too young to be fixing nails,” one user commented. "At that age I was lucky enough to wear eyeshadow," another user joked. Since Penelope's popular TikTok videos are her mom Kourtney's responsibility on the joint account, the criticism of the 9-year-old's nails was aimed at the oldest Kardashian sister. While Penelope's nails were scrutinized, some TikTokers took no issue with P's fashion statement. “Penelope can you give us a nail tutorial?” someone wrote.
Kardashian-Jenner fans think the famous family is exploring their presence on TikTok now that Keeping Up With The Kardashians is officially over. As the the Kar-Jenners gear up for their new Hulu show, the fam seems to be sharing more of their lives, including what their kids are up to. Hopefully Kourtney will keep the 9-year-old's best interest at heart as Penelope rises as TikTok star.
