Kourtney Kardashian is extending an olive branch to her ex Scott Disick despite how "awkward" things reportedly are between them. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians stars haven't been as close as they were before Kourtney fell in love with Travis Barker. But Kourtney recently put her pride aside and attended Scott's birthday party.

The Talentless founder has distanced himself from Kourtney in recent months. The former couple is said to only speak when it concerns the co-parenting of their three children. In the final season of the show, Scott opened up about the feelings he still has for Kourtney and revealed his "big fear" of seeing the Poosh founder start dating someone else. But with that scene being filmed before her friendship with Travis turned into a romance, Scott was forced to face his fear watch Kourtney fall in love with someone new.

As a sign of solidarity, Kourtney was seen partying with her family and friends at Scott's recent birthday party on Monday. Her attendance came despite the "boundaries" Kourtney reportedly set with her ex. Sources told Life & Style things have been “awkward,” between the two co-parents, but “it’s what’s best for everyone." When it comes to their level of communication, the source said, “They talk about the kids and figure out the kids’ schedules. There’s no room for added communication at all.”

Despite how hard it is to watch, Scott reportedly “understands how serious Kourtney and Travis’s relationship is,” the source added. “It’s definitely the most serious relationship she’s ever been in — aside from Scott — and some could argue it’s definitely the most mature relationship she’s ever been in in her whole life.” Meanwhile, Scott has kept himself distracted through a temporary relocation to Miami, where he has been spending time with Amelia Hamlin. This isn't the first boyfriend Kourtney has had since her and Scott's 2015 split. She dated model Younes Bendjima for two years before calling it quits in 2018.

However, Scott has noticed how different things are this time around. “Each time that Kourtney was with another guy, Scott was not intimidated at all," the source said. "In fact, she’d still invite him on family vacations and Scott felt that Kourtney’s boyfriends were probably more intimidated by him and their close bond than he was of them. But something’s different now.” Kourtney's love and devotion to the Blink 182 drummer has been reshaping the bond she still shares with the father of her kids. “She’ll always root for Scott to be as happy and healthy as possible," the insider said. "However, because of how happy Travis makes her and how happy she is to spend time with him, she’s not going to share that time with Scott.”
