If you follow Addison Rae or Kourtney Kardashian on social media, you might have noticed that the two ladies have become close friends. The 41-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and 19-year-old TikTok celebrity appear to be hanging out together regularly. Kourtney and Addison are unlikely friends which raises the question: Is their relationship a PR stunt?
Addison is a media personality and dancer that recently rose to fame on the popular TikTok app. The latest TikTok sensation acquired fame through her dancing videos with her mother, Sheri. In addition to managing her TikTok account that has 59 million followers, Addison has a podcast with her mom and is a member of The Hype House. On social media, both Addison and Kourtney have been sharing photos of their get-togethers. Because the TikTok star and Poosh founder are unexpected friends, their hangouts have stirred up controversy.
According to Cosmopolitan, this friendship started through Kourtney’s son, Mason Disick. In March, Addison helped Mason develop his TikTok brand. During the process, the TikTok star introduced herself to the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner family. “I kind of just stuck around and we got really close. We started working out together. We did a video on her YouTube of us doing a butt workout and stuff, so that was fun,” Addison explained. Even though Addison’s story about how she met Kourtney makes sense, it is still an odd friendship because of their age gap and differences in lifestyle. After all, the two media personalities have produced a lot of successful content together on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Addison even got the opportunity to model for Kim Kardashian’s Skims brand, as shown in the Instagram photo below:
All the content that Kourtney and Addison have produced together has simultaneously promoted Poosh and made the TikTok star more famous. The questionable and strange nature of some of the content has increased the relevancy of both media personalities. It’s definitely a possibility that the friendship was staged for this very purpose. Addison shared the below video of her and Scott Disick attempting a dance. This video raised eyebrows because it appears as though Scott was trying to make Sofia Richie, his ex-girlfriend, jealous:
At the moment, all we know is Kourtney and Addison have been hanging out together. While it might be weird, their story stands up and the timing could be a coincidence. That being said, this scheme is exactly the type of thing Kris Jenner would come up with. There’s no denying the possibility that the friendship was set up by Kris and her family to keep the Keeping Up With the Kardashians family in the spotlight. Over time, more may be revealed about Kourtney and Addison’s strange relationship and the reasoning behind all their hangouts.
