Konosuba: God's Blessing On This Wonderful World has often been referred to as "the Seinfeld of anime", and it's not hard to why they're so comparable. Both shows have a very wacky yet cynical sense of humor to them, and their central characters are incredibly petty and unapologetically self-serving.

The characters never seem to grow or learn from their experiences, but that's part of why their respective shows are both so successful. It's the personalities and traits of these characters that the comedy revolves around, and fans of both Konosuba and Seinfeld may be surprised to see just how much a character from one show may have in common with another character from the other show.

Kazuma Sato: Jerry Seinfeld

Jerry wearing the puffy shirt in Seinfeld

While Kazuma Sato is by no means a typical anime protagonist, the character of Jerry Seinfeld is far and away from any typical sitcom protagonist. Completely shameless in almost all of their actions, no matter how selfish and or perverted they may be, Jerry and Kazuma are also seen as the main perspective lenses that the audience views their show's outrageous situations from.

They're both equally scummy in their own unique ways, but Kazuma is still a teenager and is bound to still make a few mistake at his age. Jerry one the other hand is a full grown adult, so there's no excuse for the poorly aged things Seinfeld has done. One of the only major differences is that Jerry has never had much of a problem scoring a girlfriend, while it has continuously been a serious problem for Kazuma.

Megumin: Elaine Benes

On the surface, Megumin and Elaine appear to be some of the more mature characters of their respective shows. However, they've actually had several childish moments that have showed off their worst qualities (nevermind the fact that Megumin that is 14 years old and still a child herself).

Overly confident and cocky, Megumin boasts constantly about the power of her explosion magic, despite only being able to cast one explosion spell a day. She's also extremely judgmental, especially when it comes to her "self-proclaimed rival" Yun Yun. Elaine carries all these same traits, but on top of them all, she's also extremely superficial.

Aqua: George Costanza

George reveals a golf ball in "The Marine Biologist."

Aqua is a water goddess who, despite her title, is incredibly useless. George Constanza is human New Yorker who, when compared to his friends, is also incredibly useless.

They're both extremely lazy job-hopping moochers who constantly complain about their struggles and shortcomings, but are extremely reluctant to take any initiative in order to find any sort of resolution to them. Whatever solutions they do happen to come up with or whatever revenge schemes they attempt - like those on Seinfeld - usually backfire and end up making things worse for them, or at least have serious potential to do so.

Darkness: Cosmo Kramer

Both Kramer and Darkness are certainly the most unusual members of their friend groups. For lack of a better word, they're complete knuckleheads.

While Kramer is certainly not the masochist that Darkness is, and while Darkness appears to be more intelligent, they both have their own fair share of hilariously off-putting eccentricities. They may both be lively and cheerful characters (for totally different reasons) and tend to be more generous than their friends, but they're also totally unreliable and clumsy.

Wiz: Jackie Chiles

Mage lich Wiz and lawyer Jackie Chiles could be the considered the "go-to" individuals whenever the main characters face a certain dilemma. Wiz provides Kazuma and his party with magical items and services through her shop, while Chiles provides legal representation to Kramer and the gang (though always to no avail in their specific cases).

Both Chiles and Wiz are without a doubt the most likable characters in their respective shows. Not only that, but they both happen to be really good and skilled at their jobs.

Vanir: Newman

Newman rambles on before he's cut short in Seinfeld

Every protagonist, no matter how unlikable, needs a nemesis whose just as bad, if not worse. The closest thing that Kazuma has to a recurring enemy is the demon Vanir, who in many ways served as the Newman to his Jerry.

While Vanir has sworn that would never kill a human, he does feed and thrive on their negative emotions. Newman is more or less the same way, finding great humor and joy in Jerry's annoyance. While they're not exactly evil in the traditional sense (Vanir became a much more pleasant character in later appearances), both characters are incredibly self-indulgent individuals who also have a similar knack for delivering some memorable dramatic monologues, especially Newman.

Yun Yun: Kenny Bania

Yun Yun, whose backstory is possibly one of Konosuba's most heartbreaking moments, is also perhaps one of the most sympathetic characters in the world of Konosuba. Kenny Bania is less sympathetic, but appears to be in very similar situation.

Seemingly friendless, Yun Yun practically forces a rivalry between her and Megumin out of pure desperation for approval and interaction. One of Kenny's most humorous traits is just how oblivious he is Jerry's hatred of him, and how he practically forces others to hang out with him with no shame whatsoever.

Beldia: The Soup Nazi

The Soup Nazi glares at a customer in Seinfeld.

While hard working and dedicated, both the dulahan Beldia and the Soup Nazi are uptight and excessively prideful. They also display rather intense and sinister demeanors that manage to make them extremely intimidating in only the most humorous way possible.

The same way Megumin unknowingly (at first) attacks and sabotages Beldia's castle home by practicing her explosion magic, Elaine does to the Soup Nazi (except on purpose) by finding and exposing his secret soup recipes. Whether viewers find these two characters likable or not, the matter of fact on whether they truly deserved their fates is debatable.
