Publisher Konami has unleashed the first details about Crimesight, a new multiplayer social deduction game that revolves around a murder mystery. The social deduction aspect will no doubt see Crimesight compared to InnerSloth's Among Us, the 2018 title that just last year put these types of unique experiences on the map.

Set in London in the year 2075, Crimesight takes place during a time at which an analytical program predicts serious crimes. Though the crime rate dropped dramatically, the system has detected an "apocalyptic crime" that could culminate in irrevocable global chaos. Thus, the program's architects designed an AI, Sherlock, meant to stop the potentially devastating events. But another villainous artificial intelligence, Moriarty, proves an incredibly formidable foe. Players, then, are randomly divided into two groups in a one versus all (2-4 users) game of strategy where the Sherlock group must find the killer and save the victim, while the Moriarty player works to get away with murder. Steam users can sign up now on Konami's website for a chance to participate in the closed beta, which will last from June 25 through July 11.

Crimesight boasts an interesting premise; it fits the confines of the social deduction genre perfectly, too. Of course, how the gameplay systems and such work in action remains to be seen, but details that come out of the closed beta should prove illuminating in the days and weeks ahead.
