My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi shares that Spider-Man: No Way Home is his favorite movie of all time. While Spider-Man has existed for several decades, 2021 was likely one of the character's biggest years of all time, at least in the media. After the major fallout of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the third installment went all in to wrap up Peter Parker's trilogy with a big bang. Not only did the creative team find a way to tackle Spider-Man's identity situation, but it also served as a tribute to three generations of the web-slinger's cinematic adventure.

Marvel Studios has begun exploring the multiverse concept throughout Phase 4 by introducing alternative realities with different takes on some of the iconic Marvel heroes and villains. Spider-Man: No Way Home was no exception as it allowed Tom Holland's Spider-Man to join forces with Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's respective Spideys. In addition to their participation, villains from the Sam Raimi and Marc Webb franchises also took part in the Spider-Man threequel. As of February 2022, Spider-Man: No Way Home is close to reaching $1.8 billion dollars at the global box office, as the world is collectively sharing its love for the film.

While regular fans are showing their admiration for Spider-Man: No Way Home, creators in the industry are also expressing their love for Spider-Man's latest outing. One of them is none other than Kōhei Horikoshi, who is the creator of the popular manga My Hero Academia. In a recent Q&A with Viz, the Japanese artist briefly chatted about Spider-Man: No Way Home, as he had recently seen it, declaring it his new all-time favorite film. Horikoshi shared the following:

"I watched Spider-Man! I never thought my favorite movie of all time would change at my age."

Spider-Man No Way Home Trio

It's perfectly understandable that Spider-Man: No Way Home is having such an impact on all sorts of fans. While many superhero franchises have/will be able to accomplish a lot, only a handful can do what No Way Home did, particularly due to the multiverse. Spider-Man has and always will be one of the most iconic comic book heroes in the entire world. Similar to Batman and Superman, Spider-Man is known all over the planet in an endless list of countries to several generations. In the web-crawler's case, he's one of few characters that have been interpreted on the big-screen multiple times within the last 20 years. That's why seeing Holland, Maguire, and Garfield together has made the film a universally beloved product.

Given Spider-Man: No Way Home's critical and commercial success, it will be exciting to see where Sony and Marvel go next with the character. A Spider-Man 4 is in early development stages as of right now, with no set release date as of yet. But given how well-received the Spider-Men reunion was, it wouldn't be shocking if the next film somehow involves the three actors together in some capacity. Sony has already shown that it is investing heavily into the Spider-Verse, ever since Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse's similar success, so they could go further into that in live-action. Whenever the next Spider-Man trilogy kicks off, it will be intriguing to discover what Sony and Marvel have cooked up for the hero's next story.
