Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. joins the cast of Knives Out 2. Rian Johnson followed up the blockbuster Star Wars: The Last Jedi by writing and directing the old-fashioned star-filled murder-mystery Knives Out. The Daniel Craig-led film proved to be a hit itself, grossing $311 million worldwide. Now Johnson is working on a pair of follow-up films, both made with Netflix and both starring Craig as his Knives Out character Benoit Blanc.

Of course Knives Out 2 (as it's being called until a real title surfaces) wouldn't be a true follow-up to Knives Out if it didn't itself feature a cast filled with big names. And big names are exactly what Knives Out 2 is getting. As reported by THR, Hamilton's Odom is the latest star to join Craig in the new movie's cast. Further details on Odom's character are being kept as tightly under wraps as every other detail about the movie's plot.

In addition to winning praise for playing Aaron Burr in the smash hit Broadway musical Hamilton, Odom also garnered rave reviews for his recent turn as soul singer Sam Cooke in the biopic One Night in Miami. Indeed, Odom gained not one but two Oscar nominations for his work on that film, one for Best Supporting Actor and one for co-writing the movie's song "Speak Now." It remains to be seen if his musical talents will be put to use in Knives Out 2, but his acting ability certainly adds to the movie's mix. Dave Bautista, Janelle Monae, Edward Norton and Kathryn Hahn have also been announced as joining the movie, and no doubt there will be many more Knives Out 2 announcements in the weeks to come as Johnson continues assembling his latest all-star cast.
