In Kirby and the Forgotten Land, players explore a mysterious, abandoned world on their quest to save the Waddle Dees from the dastardly Beast Pack and rebuild Waddle Dee Town. Waddle Dee Town serves as a home base for Kirby and his friends, giving them a place to rest and recharge between adventures. As Kirby rescues Waddle Dees in each stage of this 3D platformer, Waddle Dee Town will grow, unlocking more facilities and mini-games for players to enjoy.

Each facility in Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s Waddle Dee Town can only be constructed after Kirby rescues a certain amount of Waddle Dees from the Beast Pack. Kirby’s House, for example, can be built after players rescue 50 Waddle Dees, giving Kirby and Bandana Waddle Dee a place to sleep and recover all of their health. Players are free to explore Kirby’s House for the first time in the series, and this cute little home can be decorated with photos and figurines that Kirby collects throughout the game.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land players will also have access to a variety of shops as Waddle Dee Town grows. The Waddle Dee Item Shop sells useful items like Attack Boosts and Life Ups that increase Kirby’s attack and maximum health. Waddle Dee’s Weapons Shop, on the other hand, offers Kirby more powerful Evolved Copy Forms in exchange for blueprints found in each stage. There’s also the Waddle Dee Café, a restaurant where Kirby can buy food and even get a part-time job.

Waddle Dee Town also has some useful facilities where Kirby and the Forgotten Land players can obtain special items and replay parts of the game. Players can visit the Waddle Dee-liveries post office to use amiibo and redeem codes found throughout the different stages of the game, though some of these codes require an internet connection to claim. The Gotcha Machine Alley also offers a variety of collectible figurines that Kirby can use to decorate his house. If players want some combat practice, they can head over to the Colosseum to rematch bosses. Additionally, the Waddle Dee Cinema replays cutscenes so players can stay up-to-date with the game’s story as it unfolds.

In addition to the shops and facilities that offer Kirby everything he needs to explore Kirby and the Forgotten Land’s post-apocalyptic world, Waddle Dee Town has a number of fun mini-games players can play to take a break from the action. Kirby can cast his line in the Fishing Pond in town, and the Tilt-and-Roll Kirby minigame lets players roll Kirby through a tilting course to reach the end. As players rescue more Waddle Dees to unlock all of Waddle Dee Town’s features, they can check in with the Wise Waddle Dee to see how many Waddle Dees they have rescued so far. Of course, when Kirby is ready for his next adventure, he can use the Warp Star in the Main Plaza to get to the next stage of Kirby & The Forgotten Land.
