In Kirby & The Forgotten Land, Kirby is on a mission to rescue the captured Waddle Dees, many of which are hidden in each level of the game’s six worlds. The second world players will reach is Everbay Coast, which can be unlocked after Kirby rescues 17 Waddle Dees from Natural Plains and beats the first boss. To unlock the Everbay Coast boss, players will have to rescue at least 19 Waddle Dees in the first four stages of the world.

All of the Waddle Dees Kirby rescues will return to Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Waddle Dee Town to help rebuild its homes and shops. As more and more Waddle Dees return to the town, the larger it will grow, giving Kirby a place to rest, upgrade his Copy Abilities, and play fun minigames between adventures. Rescuing 50 Waddle Dees will unlock the Waddle Dee-liveries post office as well as Kirby’s House, and the Waddle Dee Café will open for business after 60 Waddle Dees return to town.

There are 47 Waddle Dees that can be rescued in Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Everbay Coast, and Kirby will find many of them after beating each level and unlocking each trophy. However, there are a few Waddle Dees hidden throughout each stage that Kirby will have to track down as well, and some can be a bit of a challenge to find. Kirby won’t find any hidden Waddle Dees in “The Tropical Terror” boss level, but unlocking all five of its trophies will allow players to rescue the last remaining Waddle Dees in Everbay Coast.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land - All Abandoned Beach Waddle Dees

Rescuing a Waddle Dee in Kirby & The Forgotten Land's Abandoned Beach level.
  • After defeating Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Wild Bonkers miniboss and grabbing the Hammer Copy Ability, players can climb the yellow ladder just past the concrete wall. There will be a stake in the wall that players can hit with the hammer to cause the wall to fall, revealing the first hidden Waddle Dee.
  • At the end of the first section with the whirlpools, there’s an Awoofy sleeping on the stone platform to the right. Kirby can scale this cliff to find another hammer stake that can be hit to reveal a hidden cave to the left. Inside, players will have to run through a timed obstacle course to rescue the hidden Waddle Dee on the other side of the fence.
  • Kirby will have to use Ring Mouthful Mode to drive a boat through the last part of the level. To the left of the gold Waddle Dee cage, players will be able to break the wall behind the two barrels to enter a secret area with three crocodiles. The final hidden Waddle Dee is on the central platform behind the stone wall.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land - All Concrete Isles Waddle Dees

  • To find the first hidden Waddle Dee in Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Concrete Isles stage, Kirby will have to collect the five green crystals on the main path near the start of the stage. Once Kirby has picked up all five, a platform with a chest hiding the first Waddle Dee will be lifted out of the water nearby.
  • After getting past the Digguh enemies and grabbing the new Drill Copy Ability from one of them, Kirby will have to find five red crystals to rescue the second hidden Waddle Dee. Players will spot the first red crystal in the center of a platform on the main path. The second is in the dig spot in the middle of the next big platform. The third and fourth crystals are underground on the platforms with green fences on either side of the path. The final crystal is underground on the platform players can reach with the Scissor Lift Mouthful Mode. Completing the crystal star will lift another platform out of the water, and Kirby will find the second hidden Waddle Dee in a chest just like the first.

  • Near the second Waddle Dee location, there’s a platform with a Warp Star, but Kirby shouldn’t leave the area just yet. There’s an island in the distance behind that platform with a treasure chest containing the third hidden Waddle Dee, which players can reach by swimming over the fallen section of the fence.
  • To rescue the final hidden Waddle Dee in the level, players will have to use the Drill Copy Ability to find five more green crystals in the section of the stage with the moving platforms. The first can be found on the upper level of the first moving platform. The second is on top of a stack of boxes just beyond that platform. The third can be found on the upper level of the next moving platform. Just before the red cannons, there’s a glowing dig spot with a Warp Star that Kirby can use to fly to the top of the cliff. Using Pipe Mouthful Mode, Kirby can roll down the hill to grab the last two green crystals. This will unlock the door to the fourth Waddle Dee just below where Kirby will land.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land - All Scale the Cement Summit Waddle Dees

Rescuing a Waddle Dee in Kirby & The Forgotten Land's Everbay Coast.
  • As Kirby climbs the concrete building at the beginning of Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Scale the Cement Summit stage, there will be a platform with a bomb box surrounded by turtles to the left of the main path. Below this, there’s a storage locker that Kirby can pull down with Mouthful Mode to reveal the first hidden Waddle Dee.
  • After Kirby defeats the stage’s miniboss, there will be a red switch on the main path that reveals the hidden Waddle Dee up ahead. Players will have to use the Tornado Copy Ability they got from the miniboss to reach the Waddle Dee before time runs out.
  • There’s a red door on the path to the left of the second Waddle Dee’s location that leads to a secret room. There are three red buttons in the spike-covered section of the room that players must hit to unlock the door blocking the third hidden Waddle Dee.
  • While flying through the Arch Mouthful Mode section of the stage, players will be able to break through the cliff just outside the building to reveal a hidden path. The final hidden Waddle Dee is waiting at the end.

Kirby & The Forgotten Land - All Fast-Flowing Waterworks Waddle Dees

A hidden Waddle Dee in Kirby & The Forgotten World's Fast-Flowing Waterworks.
  • The first hidden Waddle Dee in Kirby & The Forgotten Land’s Fast-Flowing Waterworks is under an arch in the water of the level’s first section.
  • To rescue the second hidden Waddle Dee, players will first have to detonate the metal crates on the left of the path just past where they obtained the Chain Bomb Blueprint. The bomb box is a little farther down on the right side of the path. Once inside, players will have to bust through walls with Ring Mouthful Mode to reach the Waddle Dee before time runs out.
  • In the Stairs Mouthful Mode section of the stage, there are three red buttons that have to be pressed at the same time to unlock the gate blocking the third and fourth Waddle Dees. Players can leave the set of stairs they used to reach this section on the button to the left to hold it down. There’s another set of stairs past the nearby burning crates, which Kirby can get past with the Ice Copy Ability. With both sets of stairs on the button, the gate will open, allowing Kirby to rescue both Waddle Dees.
  • The final hidden Waddle Dee is hovering over a whirlpool on the main path. Kirby can press the blue button on the platform to the right to build a bridge straight to it.
