Exclusive concept art for FOX's comic book-based sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, offers a look at early designs for the film. While most comic book adaptations tend to focus on superheroes, FOX introduced a different kind of entry into the comic movie genre in 2015 when it released Kingsman: The Secret Service. Based on the Kingsman comic series created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbsons, The Secret Service was a critical darling, and a big box office hit, earning over $400 million worldwide on an $81 million budget.

That success naturally led to this fall's sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which saw director and co-writer Matthew Vaughn return to helm the project, along with co-writer Jane Goldman. Principal stars Colin Firth, Mark Strong, and Taron Egerton also returned to their respective leading roles. Joining the cast of The Golden Circle were big name actors Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, and Julianne Moore. Legendary British pop star Elton John even showed up as a fictionalized version of himself.

While Kingsman: The Golden Circle didn't prove to be as big a hit with critics as the original, the sequel definitely has its fans, and managed to perform very respectably at the box office. Kingsman 2 hauled in nearly $400 million on a $104 million budget, and while that's not quite the massive profit margin of the first film, it's not that far off either. FOX has provided us with some exclusive concept art for The Golden Circle, which you can check out below. Flaws aside, the sequel was still visually stunning, and these early designs provide a glimpse at how those visuals were created.

While FOX has yet to officially announce a third Kingsman film, the prospect seems pretty likely when one considers that The Golden Circle nearly quadrupled its budget. Matthew Vaughn has made it known that he very much wants to return to direct an ending to what he views as the Kingsman trilogy, and the main cast seems on-board as well. Lead actor Edgerton would also like to cast Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as the third film's villain, which would be an interesting prospect indeed.

As for the future of the Kingsman franchise beyond Kingsman 3, Vaughn has also expressed interest in possibly making a spinoff centered on the Statesman, the U.S. equivalent to the Kingsman. This would presumably see Bridges, Tatum, and Berry reprise their roles once again. For his part Kingsman creator Millar is confident that Vaughn will do right by the property and its characters.
