An actual script for Kingsman 3 already exists, as confirmed by franchise star Taron Egerton, who plays Gary "Eggsy" Unwin. Director of the franchise, Matthew Vaughn, has previously stated that he hoped for Kingsman 3 to wrap up the story for Eggsy and Harry Hart, played by Colin Firth.

The first movie in the trilogy debuted in theaters in 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service with a cast that included Egerton and Firth in lead roles as well as Samuel L. Jackson and Michael Caine in supporting roles. The second film, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, added on such acting heavyweights as Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges and Channing Tatum in some fun roles as agents in the American counterpart to the Kingsman. With a prequel of the popular franchise set to come out in early 2020, titled The King's Man, fans of the spy thriller franchise can rest assured that one key component of a final installment in the main trilogy is done.

As reported by ComicBook.com, Egerton appeared at ACE Comic Con Midwest this past weekend, where the confirmation of the third film took place. He confirmed that there is indeed a Kingsman 3 script and it's a "really neat idea," so it sounds as though Egerton is fully on board to jump back into the character of Eggsy that he played in the first two films.

Eggsy and Harry Kingsman The Golden Circle

With the confirmation of a script by Egerton over the weekend, he also made it clear that he isn't "allowed" to say anything in regards to what the movie is about. He did however put it out there that it appears the third film is likely the last installment, since he said the plan is to do another one, "one more time."

Though it has yet to be confirmed, it would make sense that the third film will not just see the return of Egerton and Firth's characters, but also the teams of the Statesman character that audiences met in The Golden Circle when it hit theaters in 2017. Certainly, there are several different exciting ways this story can play out.

We currently have no set release date or plot points to look forward to with Kingsman 3, but talk of a script by the film's lead is certainly something that will help keep those embers glowing for the fans. And even though long time franchise fans might find themselves a bit distraught over the thought of these films wrapping things up, with the prequel The King's Man hitting theaters in February of next year, there is potential for a whole new series to get started or plenty more spinoffs after the release of Kingsman 3.
