Filming on Kingsman 3 is set to begin in September 2022, according to the film's director. Based on the comic by Mark Millar, the Kingsman film franchise started in 2015 with Kingsman: The Secret Service and was followed by 2017's Kingsman: The Golden Circle, with the two becoming box office hits. The latest film is a prequel titled The King's Man, which is set to open on December 22, 2022, after being delayed for two years.

The first Kingsman film focused on Eggsy (Taron Egerton) who goes from a working-class background to become a gentleman spy who returned for the sequel film. Since his breakout role in Kingsman, Egerton has become one of the most in-demand actors starring in a number of high-profile projects including Sing, Robin Hood, and the Elton John biopic, Rocketman. Yet, despite Kingsman: The Golden Circle being released four years ago and the momentum on the franchise having cooled down, Egerton is expected to reprise his role in the third entry in the main Kingsman franchise.

In a recent interview with Comicbook.com Matthew Vaughn, who has helmed all of the Kingsman films, confirmed that production on Kingsman 3 would start in September 2022. Vaughn confirmed the film will wrap up Eggsy's story, making it the final part of a trilogy of films, not counting the upcoming prequel. No release date has been set for Kingsman 3 nor any word on which other cast members will be returning.

Eggsy raising his glass in Kingsman

While no word on the release date is set, 20th Century Pictures has an untitled film set for release on September 15, 2023. Kingsman: The Golden Circle was released on that same weekend of September in 2017, and both Kingsman: The Secret Service and The King's Man originally had September release dates planned, so it is likely the studio is aiming for that release date on the upcoming third film. That gives the filmmakers over a year from the start of production to the release date to deliver the film.

Kingsman: The Secret Service may have hinted at how Kingsman 3 will conclude. Harry Hart (Colin Firth) told Eggsy a gentleman's name should only appear in the paper three times: when he is born, when he is married and when he dies. Kingsman: The Secret Service essentially saw Eggsy born as a Kingsman agent, while The Golden Circle concluded with his wedding to Tilde, the Crown Princess of Sweden. This likely means Kingsman 3 could end with Eggsy's death. This would bring the franchise full circle, with Eggsy in the mentor role passing his title down to another agent.
