The new trailer for The King's Man introduces the gentlemen going rogue at the center of the film. The film franchise began with Kingsman: The Secret Service in 2014, a Matthew Vaughn film adapted from the comic by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons. The film and its sequel The Golden Circle follow Taron Egerton's chav troublemaker Eggsy as he joins the titular league of gentleman superspies and takes down a variety of colorful villains bent on world domination.

The King's Man, the third film in the franchise, is a prequel that will follow the creation of the Kingsman organization. Although the film was originally scheduled for release in November 2019, it was delayed by Disney's acquisition of Fox and the subsequent theater closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The King's Man kept getting kicked down the schedule until it settled on its current release date, December 22, 2021. The prequel stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Matthew Goode,  Tom Hollander, Harris Dickinson, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, Charles Dance, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

20th Century Studios has dropped a new short teaser for The King's Man. The teaser shows how the gentlemen (and lady) go rogue and transition to international superspies. The action-packed, guns-a-blazing teaser introduces audiences to each of the major characters of the film, who all get their own splash page-style moment to shine. The crew that teams up to form the original Kingsman lineup are Conrad (Dickinson), Shola (Hounsou), Polly (Arterton), and Orlando, Duke of Oxford (Fiennes). Check out the teaser below:

The King's Man will follow these four heroic spies as they team up to take down a cabal of some of history's greatest villains. The historical figures that take part in the movie include Grigori Rasputin (Ifans), Herbert Kitchener (Dance), Erik Jan Hanussen (Brühl), and George V, Wilhelm II, and Nicholas II (all three roles will be played by Hollander). They will be joined by more actors playing influential figures from the World War I era, including Aaron Vodovoz as Felix Yuzupov, Todd Boyce as Mr. Alfred DuPont, Branka Katic as Tsarina Alix, Valerie Pachner as Mata Hari, and Robert Aramayo as Gavrilo Princip.

From the glimpse that this teaser gives us, the film won't have a shortage of actors having fun delivering action movie mayhem. Considering that The King's Man is a completely fictional account of a fictional spy organization, it will be interesting to see how these vibrant new characters interact with such prominent historical figures. Given the cartoonish and hyperviolent tone of the Kingsman films, it's highly likely that fans will see a story closer to something like Inglourious Basterds than, say, Band of Brothers.
