Despite the fact that Kingdom Hearts 2 is more than fifteen years old, many feel that the game still holds up really well today. One of the more exciting aspects of the version included with this collection though is that there is a bunch of extra content for players to explore after completing the main game. This guide shows players what they should check out after beating Kingdom Hearts 2.

While the original version of Kingdom Hearts 2 did have a few things to complete after the credits rolled, the vast majority of post game content was added in with the re-release of the game, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix. This edition of the game was not released in the US until it was included as part of the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix edition. This is all to say that fans of the series who have not played Kingdom Hearts 2 since the PlayStation 2 days may actually have a lot of new content to check out for the first time.

Unlock The Ultima Weapon - One of the greatest quests that the player can take part in while exploring the world of Kingdom Hearts 2 is to try and complete the Ultima Weapon. This is by no means an easy feat as the weapon can only be crafted, and to do the player has to get a little tricky with the crafting mechanics. Completing this weapon will require that the player finds all of the Orichalcum + in the game as well as a host of other very rare ingredients. Once found though this is one of the strongest weapons that the player can get their hands on.

Max Out Sora's Levels - An interesting aspect of Sora in Kingdom Hearts 2 is that he has different levels for himself and each of his drive forms. This means that as players level each of these versions up they will obtain very powerful abilities in the game. After beating the main game there are a host of very difficult enemies for players to go up against, so it is a really good idea to level everything up to the maximum. If the drive forms are maxed they can even give Sora's standard form special abilities as well.

Obtain Donald and Goofy's Best Weapons - Donald and Goofy both have their own special weapons in the game too that the player will probably want to get their hands on. Donald's Premium Mushroom gives him the highest magic stat possible in the game and Goofy's Save The King + provides him with the highest Strength stat in the game. Both of these are great options for ensuring both characters can deal as much damage as they possibly can to enemies.

Defeat the Absent Silhouettes - Those who have played through Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories will probably get more out of these fights than others, but the Absent Silhouettes are challenging fights against shadowy figures from Sora's past. Each of these five ghostly remnants are what is left of the rebel Organization XIII members that Sora defeated during Chain of Memories. Bringing these enemies down grants Sora the ability to craft all new items based off of these characters.

Satisfy Each of the Mushroom XIII - These odd Mushroom Heartless are heavily inspired by the members of Organization XIII and will each use an ability that the player would be associated with their respective member of the Organization. Each of these enemies has a specific challenge that they will need Sora to complete in order to satisfy them. One wishes the player to avoid its spell attacks for as long as possible whereas another wants Sora to attack them as many times as they can in thirty seconds. Completing each challenge rewards the player with special prizes.

Complete the Cavern of Remembrance and the Organization XIII Data Battles - If the player hasn't gotten tired of Organization XIII by now, then they can always go and fight against each member once again. First, the player will have to max out each of their growth abilities and then make their way through the Cavern of Remembrance. Then they are able to enter any of the 13 portals ahead of them to fight against a tougher version of each Organization member. Keep in mind though that each member can only be fought against after Sora beats them for real first, which means most members can't be fought against until beating the game. It also means that the five rebels can only be fought after defeating the Absent Silhouettes.

Finish All of the Underworld Coliseum Cups - The player can also take a trip back to the Underworld and try to complete all of the Coliseum Cups for different rewards. As the player progresses further into the game they will unlock different tournaments, and each one has its own special requirements. Some of them will force Sora to fight alone, others won't allow Sora to use certain abilities, and others have random special effects that change every round. These will give players a huge amount of different challenges.

Defeat Final Fantasy 7's Sephiroth - While this fight is not nearly as difficult compared to the other secret optional bosses in the game, the sheer absurdity of fighting against one of the most legendary video game villains of all time is extremely exciting. Fighting against Sephiroth will require a huge amount of patience, fast reflexes, and a wide array of different useful abilities. Those who manage to defeat the silver-haired boss will even gain a brand new powerful Keyblade.

Complete the Hundred Acre Wood - Not everything to do in Kingdom Hearts 2 is a stressful fight to the death. Players can also spend a decent amount of time in the game hanging out with everyone's favorite yellow bear, Winnie the Pooh. This involves scouring the world for each of the missing pages to Pooh's book before returning to the Hundred Acre Wood to complete different mini-games. These will help restore Pooh's memory and grant the player a host of different items.

Face off Against the Lingering Will - This is it. Once players have completed every single thing that there is to do in Kingdom Hearts 2, the fight against Lingering Will is the only challenge that the game has left for them. This fight is one that most players never attempt, and even less ever get a chance to complete. The reason for this is that Lingering Will is one of the deadliest enemies that the Kingdom Hearts series has ever created, and Sora is wildly outclassed. This fight should only be attempted by only the best and most prepared players.
