Warning! Spoilers for Miles Morales: Spider-Man #23 below.

Marvel Comics' most wholesome hero, Ms. Marvel has been turned into a pawn for the King in Black. In brand new previews for the upcoming Miles Morales: Spider-Man #23, Kamala Khan has gone from a wide-eyed superhero that readers know and love into a complete monster - and one of her closest allies is going to try to save her: Miles Morales' Spider-Man.

Kamala Khan was first introduced in Captain Marvel #14 and was co-created by Sana Amanat, Stephen Wacker, G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona, and Jamie McKelvie. The Pakistani American teen was an Avengers (particular Carol Danvers) superfan before Terrigen Mist unlocked her Inhuman Powers. Kamala can morph and stretch her body into different shapes and sizes. Khan has often portrayed as a more wholesome character who's thrilled to be fighting alongside the heroes she once idolized. However, in the recent King in Black tie-in, Ms. Marvel was turned into a symbiote monster.

In Miles Morales: Spider-Man #23 by Saladin Ahmed, Carmen Carnero, David Curiel, VC's Cory Petit, Spider-Man finds himself fighting against the God of Symbiotes dark forces. However, one of his closest friends, Ms. Marvel, was infected by the King in Black. The Knullified Ms. Marvel essentially becomes a mini-Kaiju, as she twists and shapes her body into deadly weapons, including massive spikes. It's unlikely Khan would ever make herself such a dangerous weapon, but with the King in Black's influence, he's really putting her body morphing powers to its fullest capabilities. All Miles can do is dodge the attacks and hope that he can talk Kamala out of killing him. He soon realizes that Knull has control of her mind - to which he responds, "all of her is ours. Mine. She is nothing but a child of The Hive."

Miles isn't ready to quit trying to help Kamala Khan, as he tells her that she's his friend and he will get her out of the King in Black's hold.

Marvel's most wholesome hero becoming a scary, dangerous monster shows just how easily Knull can infect the greatest heroes on Earth. He turned an Avenger into his own personal weapon. Hopefully, Miles Morales can save Ms. Marvel from the King in Black's hold before it's too late. Readers will find out more when Miles Morales: Spider-Man (King in Black tie-in) is in comic book stores and online later this week.
