Warning! Spoilers for King in Black: Captain America #1 below.

Captain America, the Winter Soldier, and the Falcon are about to face the most powerful threat that's ever come to Earth. In new previews for King in Black: Captain America #1, the trio will battle against the God of Symbiotes. However, for those expecting the Avengers to quickly defeat the King in Black's army, think again, as the fight will be difficult as Captain America struggles with his inner darkness.

In previous chapters of the King in Black event currently ongoing in the Marvel Comics Universe, Captain America's plan failed and he had been corrupted by Knull's forces, becoming part of his symbiote army. But, in recent issues, Dylan Brock seemingly freed Steve Rogers from the King in Black's hold. A new tie-in will show Captain America, Falcon, and the Winter Soldier in the streets of Manhattan trying to stop Knull's forces. Steve seems to still be impacted by Knull's corruption, leading him down a dark path in the story.

ComicBook.com provided an exclusive look at King in Black: Captain America #1 by Danny Lore, Mirko Colak, Stefano Landini, Erick Arciniega, Roge Antonio, and Nico Leon. In the preview pages, Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier can be seen running and fighting back against a horde of symbiote dragons. It's a full Cap team-up, as Captain America can be seen slinging his shield at the monsters, while Sam Wilson aka the Falcon helps fend them off.

However, the last preview page shows Captain America getting corrupted by the symbiote army. He's seen grabbing the Winter Soldier as his eyes turn red and the symbiote goo surrounds his body. Cap's star logo turns into one of the King in Black's dragon. The evil Captain America can be seen with a menacing smile on his face as he pushes Bucky towards the symbiote. All Falcon can do is watch as his teammates are enveloped by the darkness of Knull.

Will Captain America be responsible for turning his closest friends into symbiote monsters for the King in Black's army? The previews suggest that at the very least, the three heroes will be somewhat impacted by the dark forces from the God of Symbiotes. Hopefully, Captain America, Winter Soldier, and Falcon can resist long enough to free themselves and continue to fight against the King in Black's forces as they overtake New York City. Readers will find out more when King in Black: Captain America #1 hits stores on March 3rd, 2021.
