Kim Richards’ kids are worried about their mom after she fled from the hospital. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been known to struggle with her sobriety issues and often go MIA in the past.

Richards found fame as a child actor, starring in the Walt Disney movie, Escape to Witch Mountain, which launched her career. Richards had been known for struggling with substance abuse and was outed by her sister, Kyle Richards, during season 1 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hill in 2011. Richards had been in rebab during the season 2 reunion, but then quickly relapsed in 2015 after having been arrested twice for shoplifting. During her appearances on the reality show, fans often watched as Richards seemed disorientated and found it hard at times to form complete sentences. Richards left the show after only five seasons.

During recent weeks Richards had an emergency room visit to UCLA Medical Center at the urging of her daughter, Brooke Wierderhorn, who had watched her mother spiral out of control for weeks as first reported by US Weekly. Richards had gone to the hospital but then quickly disappeared, leaving against the advice of medical professionals and without being formally discharged. She had been missing for hours, leading her children to reach out to more family members hoping to locate her.

The actor’s agent addressed the situation, saying that his client was perfectly healthy and had been working on a big role. Richards' other children, Whitney, Chad, and Kimberly, denied that that was the case, saying their mother had been incoherent and struggling for weeks. They seemed to believe she was having a major breakdown. The doctors performed a toxicology lab, but the actor fled the premises before they could finish the screening process. The family is not sure how she was able to leave as she did not have a car with her at the time. The child star had also turned her phone off, rendering it impossible to locate her. The actor did reappear the next day at her home.

According to the Richards family, the problem seemed to be more about mental health than sobriety. Kyle Richards had adamantly been trying to convince her sibling to check herself back into a facility so she can work on herself. Richards seemed to be receptive to the help and concern that her family has been giving her. Fans of the star and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills would just like to see Richards take time for herself and heal.
