Many assumed Kim and Kanye might even reconcile and dismiss the divorce. But when Kim started dating Pete by the end of the year, it became clear she had no intention of taking Kanye back. The rap/fashion mogul spent weeks targeting Kim and Pete through a series of erratic social media posts. In recent months, Kanye has eased up and remained silent about his ex-wife's love life while dating his latest girlfriend Chaney Jones.
In the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim owned up to the real reason she sought out a romance with Pete. "I text him. I wasn't even thinking like, 'Oh my God I'm gonna be in a relationship with him,'" Kim shared in a confessional, as captured by Twitter user JuulBiden. Kim admits she had no intention of dating Pete seriously, "I was just thinking like, 'Heard about this BDE. Need to get out there. I need to just like… jumpstart my… I was basically just DTF,'" Kim said with a smile. The shocking revelation shows where Kim's head was when she contacted a Saturday Night Live producer to get Pete's phone number. The initial spark ignited after Kim and Pete shared a kiss during the Aladdin sketch on the episode she hosted. Kanye was in the audience and saw the kiss firsthand. Little did he know, Kim's kiss wasn't so innocent. Fans were quick to call out the shocking revelations from the "41-year-old mother of four," one critic said.
Many others expressed their worry about Kanye after Kim so proudly admitted to what made her finally decide to move on from the Yeezy founder.
