SKIMS has unveiled the new designs Keeping Up With the Kardashians' Kim Kardashian released for Team USA to wear at the Winter Olympics. After putting Team USA in original American-made threads for the 2020 Olympics, Kim is continuing on with the high-profile partnership. Despite all the drama she's going through in her personal life, business always comes first for Kim. Now her dominating fashion line has debuted another assortment of athletic apparel for this year's Olympic events.
The 2020 Olympics took place last summer after the pandemic postponed the event by a year. During the hiatus, Kim was able to ink a deal with Team USA that would make SKIMS the official apparel line for the American players. Kim was excited to announce that her SKIMS brand would be designing the official undergarments, pajamas, and loungewear for Team USA for the summer games in Tokyo. A lot was riding on Kim for the line to perform well. And it looks like the mission was accomplished because a new Olympics line has been revealed.
Over the week, images of the SKIMS for Team USA Collection were unveiled. Much like SKIMS Tokyo 2020 Olympic Collection, the new line includes athletic apparel, sleepwear, and loungewear to celebrate the female players at the 2022 Winter Olympics and the Paralympic Games, ET reports. When unveiling the line on Instagram last week, gold medalist Chloe Kim was among the athletes chosen as models. SKIMS credited Chloe with being "one of the incredible competitors that inspired this limited-edition capsule." Another post highlighted all of the "inspiring athletes" including the Paralympic medalist Oksana Masters, and Olympic bobsledder Aja Evans. The SKIMS for Team USA Collection officially drops on Jan. 25.
When revealing her Team USA partnership last summer, Kim gave a special shoutout to Caitlyn Jenner for being the first to introduce her family to the Olympics. As a gold medalist, Caitlyn has been heavily involved with the event since her win at the 1976 decathlon. It was a big deal for Kim since launching SKIMS in 2018. Kim has successfully expanded the brand from being just a shapewear line to loungewear and apparel. When accepting her Fashion Icon award last year, Kim thanked Kanye for helping to introduce her to the world of fashion. Many have credited her ex-husband with helping Kim grow her celebrity status and business endeavors.
SKIMS initial release was similar in design to some of Kanye's Yeezy pieces for women. But Kim has continued to grow the company all on her own. Since filing for divorce last February, Kim has gone on to secure a partnership with Team USA that gives her apparel line more international appeal. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star found her own way to make it to the Olympics without having to compete.
