Star of Keeping Up with the KardashiansKim Kardashian recently revealed that her brother, Rob Kardashian will attend the family’s Thanksgiving dinner. Her younger brother has been increasingly social in recent months, following a long absence from public life and the spotlight.

Anyone who watches Keeping Up With the Kardashians knows that the Calabasas-based family is all about the holidays and personal celebrations. Birthday parties for the grandkids are legendary affairs filled with color and all the greatest finery. The family's annual Christmas card is a must-see. Even Thanksgiving has been all the rage among these relatives; fashion and lifestyle publication W Magazine showcased the Kardashians' Thanksgiving decorations back in 2018. With a family known for its festive gatherings, it's hard to imagine anyone wanting to sit out all the fun. However, Rob Kardashian has been through a spate of personal challenges that have contributed to his public shyness. Over the years, he's gained a considerable amount of weight, developed Type 2 diabetes, and had a few very public breakups (Rita Ora; Blac Chyna) that left his self-esteem shattered. That's why holidays and other events with his family have been awkward for the reality star. He skipped sister Kim's Italian wedding to Kanye West back in 2014. In April 2019, he also reportedly missed a ceremony honoring his late father, even though the rest of his family attended.

Lately, Rob seems to be leaning into socializing. In recent months, he's been spotted around Los Angeles at sister Kendall's birthday party, as well as dressing up with his daughter Dream for Halloween. Next on Rob's list? Thanksgiving, according to sister, Kim, "He’ll be around for Thanksgiving, he’s been around a lot for the past year or two." She gushed over her brother, saying, "We love having him around. He’s doing really good."

Rob does appear to be doing well. Recent photos of him out on the town show a slimmed-down version of his former self. Not only that, but his custody issues with ex Blac Chyna seem to have settled. That equates to much less stress in his personal life, and more time to just live in the moment. The holidays are the perfect time for family members to come together. The fact that Rob is attending dinner with his famous siblings, their kids, as well as his mother is a sign that he's moving in the right direction. It was unfortunate that depression and other various setbacks removed him from a number of social engagements over the years. It's also sad that his failed relationships may have contributed to his discomfort around his family.

However, Rob has a lot to be thankful for this year. He's got a beautiful daughter, Dream, who is healthy and happy, as well as a company that is thriving and even has a product collaboration with Kylie Cosmetics. Hopefully, the Kardashian's posh Thanksgiving will give Rob and the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner family to reflect on how truly blessed they are to have each other. And Kardashian fans can look forward to possibly seeing Rob on the family Christmas card this year for the first time in a long time.
