The Kardashians star Kim Kardashian is reportedly "very relieved" after finalizing her divorce from Kanye West. Kim and Kanye spent nearly two years hashing out their differences in divorce proceedings. Kim first filed to dissolve the marriage in February 2021, following months of living separately from Kanye. During the proceedings, Kanye put up a strong fight and lengthened the process by going through a series of divorce lawyers and disagreeing on factors he eventually agreed to.

Now that Kim and Kanye have finalized their divorce, the SKIMS founder is reportedly "very relieved," People reports. Kim is happy because she "didn't want the divorce to go to trial," the insider noted. During the proceedings, Kim and Kanye "had several initial disagreements that they were now able to agree on," the source shared. "Kanye ended up agreeing to most of the things that he opposed in the past." When it comes to the custody of their four children, Kim is the "primary caregiver," with them sharing joint custody of North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. Kim is focused on the West kids being "protected" and doesn't want Kanye to make their custody disputes public. "Kim hopes the co-parenting will be a bit easier from now on," the insider told People. As part of the custody agreement, Kanye will give Kim $200,000 a month in child support. The money has to be wired to Kim's account by the 1st of each month. The funds are reportedly only Kanye's portion of the total monthly childcare costs. Kim also received the house next door to her home that Kanye purchased to be closer to the kids. With them sharing joint custody, Kanye can see the kids whenever he wants.

It took time to reach an agreement due to how challenging Kanye made the proceedings. When Kim first filed for divorce, Kanye refused to speak to her directly. Kim could only speak to the Yeezy founder through his security. It took months before Kim and Kanye got back on friendly terms and started attending family outings together. Kim even supported Kanye at his three Donda listening events. Kanye was in attendance when she hosted Saturday Night Live. But things went sour again after he caught wind of Kim's romance with Pete Davidson.

Kanye spent weeks tormenting Pete on social media after Kim shut down his countless attempts to win her back. Kanye took aim at Pete once again when he and Kim parted ways over the summer. Through it all, The Kardashians star remained strong and patient, as her divorce lawyer Laura Wasser worked with Kanye's legal team to get the divorce finalized. After nearly two years of back and forth, the marriage is dissolved. Kanye is currently on a media spree causing further damage to his brand and reputation after already losing his billionaire status. Kim is focused on amicably co-parenting and letting Kanye be Kanye.
