After Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian filed for divorce a few weeks ago, husband Kanye West has finally responded with a custody filing for their four kids. Two months after the official divorce filing, which followed months of rumored problems between the pair, Kanye made a move to receive joint custody of their children. Both Kim and Kanye have remained silent on their split, despite private details making their way to the press.

The former superstar pair have both reportedly locked themselves into their work while maintaining some type of co-parenting arrangement. They were nearing seven years of marriage when they decided to pull the plug on their high-profile relationship. Together, they welcomed four children — North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1. Sources have said the two haven't been in much communication, with Kanye changing his phone numbers and only allowing Kim to contact him through his security. It has also been said that Kanye comes to visit their children whenever Kim isn't home.

When the SKIMS founder made the February divorce filing, she requested joint custody of their kids. Now, two months later, Kanye is finally responding and requesting the same thing. The move further proves how smooth the two stars are keeping their divorce proceedings. The Yeezy founder recently filed documents obtained by Hollywood Life where, like his wife, Kanye is requesting joint legal custody of North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. Sources say the two are working out an amicable co-parenting arrangement despite how much time Kanye spends at his ranch in Wyoming.

Oftentimes, co-parenting is the trickiest part of ending a relationship. Having kids together demands that a couple stay in each other's lives in some capacity, which may be difficult depending on the relationship between the parents. However, Kanye and Kim both seem committed to making the new situation as easy as possible on their children. In addition, neither Kim nor Kanye seems interested in cutting the other out of their children's lives, which suggests they may be able to work out a healthy situation moving forward.

With Kanye being busy at work on his upcoming Yeezy X Gap collaboration, the fashion designer is still making it a priority to see his children. "He’s still seeing the kids they’re just keeping it all private and quiet and it’s not for long periods of time," the source added. Meanwhile, the KKW Beauty founder is reportedly staying positive and trying to keep the peace with her estranged ex. “Kim will take them up to Wyoming for a night or he’ll come out to California for a few days and stay with friends,” the insider said. Despite their ongoing divorce proceedings, the former couple has worked out “their routine." But things are more so  "on his schedule which can be frustrating" for Kim. At least they're both trying for the sake of their kids.
