After a year of dodging breakup rumors, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are reportedly headed towards a divorce. In an exclusive report hitting the New York Post, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star and rap/fashion mogul are done trying to make their marriage work and have decided to go their separate ways.
Last year, Kim and Kanye had a strong start as a couple. The two were seen traveling the country together for Kanye's Sunday Service performances. The family of six had just welcomed their youngest of four children, Psalm West, in May before things went left by the summer. In July, Kanye announced his bid for the presidency. While many didn't take his comments seriously at the time, he followed it up by holding a rally in South Carolina a month later. During the rally, he became emotional while divulging personal information about Kim's first pregnancy with their daughter, North West. The shocking reveal offended his wife so much, paparazzi snapped photos of the superstar arguing with her husband just a few days later. Tears streamed down Kim's face during their heated exchange. However, while divorce rumors were heightened, Kim opted to stay by her husband's side. They denied divorce speculation while Kanye continued to campaign and Kim stayed silent. After losing the election, Kanye drew back into seclusion, while Kim continued her advocacy work and promoting her businesses online.
During the fall, reports began to surface that the two were living very separate lives and not spending much time together. Around Christmas, fans questioned where Kanye was, as he was noticeably absent from Kim's family photos. Now, during the first week of a new year, reports claim the famous couple has decided to call it quits. According to multiple source reports to Page Six, “divorce is imminent” for the pair, with the KKW Beauty founder reportedly hiring celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser. “They are keeping it low-key but they are done,” an insider dished. “Kim has hired Laura Wasser and they are in settlement talks.” It's also said that the SKIMS founder hasn't been seen wearing her wedding ring while her husband reportedly has "no plans" of returning to life in Los Angeles.
Recent source reports claimed Kanye was working on himself and FaceTiming his family daily while remaining at his $14 million Wyoming ranch. “Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” the source added. While Kim has always publicly supported her husband through his mental health struggles, insiders claim her patience has grown thin. “Now this divorce is happening because Kim has grown up a lot," the source shared. “She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy s–t, and she’s just had enough of it.”
Meanwhile, sources for Kanye say he is over, and has been over, the Kardashian-Jenner clan and their extravagant lifestyle. The Yeezy founder “Is completely over the entire family," another insider claimed. "He wants nothing to do with them” and even found their reality show to be “unbearable.” Though he attended his wife's 40th birthday getaway on a remote island, “He showed up late and left early," the source shared. "He wouldn’t appear in any of their Instagram shots. All he did was bring over the hologram of her father Robert Kardashian, then got out of there as fast as he could.” Yikes!
Last July, Kanye tweeted about trying to get a divorce from Kim after she worked with rapper Meek Mill on prison reform. He also called out his mother-in-law Kris Jenner, claiming they had him in the "sunken place." But, according to sources, this time around, the divorce is really happening. “This isn’t the first time they’ve been talking about a split, but this time it is way, way more serious," the insider stated.
