The star of the upcoming new series, The Kardashians', Kim Kardashian is finally introducing her four children to Pete Davidson, but she's taking her time. The pair met when Kim hosted Saturday Night Live in October 2021 and were even featured in a skit together. At that time, Kim made waves for her SNL monologue, where she took jabs at virtually everyone in her family, including Kanye West, saying, "[Kanye's] a talented legit incredible genius who gave me four beautiful kids...so when I divorced him you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality." Kim and Kanye officially announced their divorce in January 2021, and though there had been talks about Kim moving on, she remained single.

But that all changed when Kim and Pete started dating only a few weeks after her stunt at SNL. The couple kept the details of their relationship fairly private, but it wasn't uncommon for them to be spotted together. Things seemed to be getting serious quickly, and though Kim still hadn't introduced Pete to her children, she was slowly integrating him into her life. Kanye had been fairly vocal about Kim's "betrayal," but that quickly ramped up in March. Kanye began posting bursts of images, each with a caption that mentioned him wanting his "wife" back, and hating Pete, or, as Kanye referred to him, "Skete." This continued for a few weeks, and during that time Kanye even released a music video that featured him burying Pete alive. Unfortunately for Kanye, the situation he created seemed to only bring Kim and Pete closer together.

Though Kim and Pete remain private about their love life, a source who spoke with People is stating exactly where they stand. "Pete is slowly getting to know Kim's kids too. They are not rushing it, though." Kim has been vocal about prioritizing her kids' well-being. She has four young children, with the oldest, North West, being only eight years old. And while Kim and Pete have only been dating for about five months, they've gotten pretty close in that amount of time. Kim has asked for and gotten approval from her extended family, and if she's introducing Pete to her children now, it must mean she know's he's for real.

The Kardashians star has also been vocal about the fact that, despite Kanye's behavior, she is not going to speak negatively about him in front of her children. This has been a longstanding Kardashian rule dating all the way back to their father's trial defending OJ Simpson. To this day the Kardashian women refuse to speculate on whether or not he was guilty because through that time they became close to his children and would never want to hurt them. The rule showed up again during the continued Tristan Thompson scandals. Despite Tristan's atrocious behavior, Khloé Kardashian has a child with him, and the Kardashians never want her to grow up seeing them speak ill of her father.

Many would consider Kim's decision to hold off on introducing her kids to Pete commendable. The Kardashians celeb and Pete have taken the time and the steps to get to know each other in the real world before involving the children. And introducing them to Pete "slowly" gives the kids the time to get to know Kim's new man without the pressure of him fulfilling some role. It also gives fans the hope that Pete may have a reoccurring spot on The Kardashians. The quickness of Kim and Pete's relationship might cause some raised eyebrows, but what may look fast from the outside may have actually have been a long time coming.
