Kim Kardashian is being called out for her hypocrisy. As Kim refuses to open up about the details of her divorce to Kanye West on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, viewers are starting to call her a hypocrite. In previous seasons of the show, Kim would get irritated with her older sister Kourtney Kardashian for not wanting to open up about her own personal matters in front of cameras. Now, Kim is taking on that same, private lifestyle.
After months of rumors and speculations, Kim finally filed for a divorce from Kanye in February. Kim and Kanye were perceived to be having issues for quite some time prior to Kim's breaking point. In the leaked divorce papers, it stated that Kim is seeking a divorce due to irreconcilable differences. She is also asking for full joint custody with Kanye over their four children. Since her filing, Kim and Kanye are no longer on speaking terms. In fact, Kim is supposedly only allowed to speak to Kanye through his security.
With just two episodes of the final season of KUWTK already airing, fans are already not too happy with Kim. Reddit users are calling Kim a hypocrite for not opening up about her divorce to Kanye. It is not fair that Kim tends to give Kourtney a hard time for being more private with her personal life but when she wants to be private no one bats an eye. In reality, despite being the most timid of the family, Kourtney has in fact shared the most details of her personal life over the last 20 seasons. The family is allowing Kim to have her space, something they rarely did with Kourtney. Fans even called out Khloe Kardashian for respecting Kim's decision to stay quiet while not giving the same respect to her other sister.
Although Kim and Kanye's divorce is quite complicated due to his mental health battles, fans pointed out that Kourtney's ex, Scott Disick, also dealt with his own mental health struggles such as addiction. The only major differing factor here is that Scott gets paid a large sum to be on the show, while Kanye tends to steer away from being apart of filming even when he and Kim were on good terms. A better comparison would be when Khloe shared some extremely private and harsh details of her divorce to Lamar Odom on the show. One fans pointed out that it could in part have to do with their contracts on the show, which are assumed to change over time.
There are some double standards within the Kardashian family when it comes to sharing their personal lives. Although Kim has so far refused to go into detail regarding her differences with Kanye, there is still time for this to potentially change. In a trailer for the final season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim was seen crying while calling herself a loser. This breakdown is likely either her divorce to Kanye or her tests for law school. Fans will just have to continue to keep up to find out.
