Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian has signed an exclusive podcast deal with Spotify and will co-host a prison reform podcast alongside TV producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi, which will initially investigate the conviction of Kevin Keith. Kim has been a high-profile celebrity for over 10 years now, spearheading various business endeavors while also filming her family's television series and dealing with alleged marital problems.

In recent years, however, Kim Kardashian has been shifting her focus from producing and starring in family-based reality TV shows to projects that enact social change. Specifically, Kim is studying to become a lawyer and has been doing extensive work on prison reform. In 2020, the social media mogul released the two-hour Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project documentary on Oxygen, where Kim personally looked into the cases of Alexis Martin, David Sheppard, Dawn Jackson, and Momolu Stewart. Now, Kim is going one step further to advance her interest in overturning unfair sentences in the criminal field.

As reported by the WSJ, Kim Kardashian is the newest multimedia personality to sign an exclusive podcast deal with Spotify. The planned project, which would be co-hosted by Kim and TV producer Lori Rothschild Ansaldi, would focus on criminal justice and specifically investigate the details surrounding Kevin Keith's 1994 conviction of three murders. Keith's story has garnered a lot of attention from legal experts in recent years, particularly when, in 2018, the Ohio Supreme Court declined to hear his case.

Spotify has been heavily focused on creating original podcast shows in recent years, and even signed a deal with Warner Bros. to create a podcast based on DC Comics superheroes. Details about Kim Kardashian's deal with Spotify have not been disclosed, but it is of note that the streaming service has recently spent $100 million on its exclusive podcast deal with Joe Rogan. However, experts note that Kim's Spotify deal is likely much lower than Rogan's, given that the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star is new to hosting talk shows and/or podcasts.

Podcasts and docu-series who provide serialized investigations of particular cases have been very successful in recent years, with notable examples that include SerialMaking a Murderer, and even Tiger King - all of which have captured mainstream attention and consequently engaged the legal community to look into the cases that were brought to light. If Kim is successful with this new podcast, her days on Keeping Up with the Kardashians may become a thing of the past.
