Star of Keeping Up With The Kardashians Kim Kardashian continues to speak highly of her ex-husband, rapper Kanye West. The mom of four was recently named Wall Street Journal Magazine's 2021 Brand Innovator for the success of her shapewear and lingerie line SKIMS. Businesswoman Kim was applauded for not only her brand innovation with SKIMS, but also her many beauty and lifestyle business ventures, as well as working on becoming a lawyer. Kim is a self-proclaimed workaholic who has been open about her struggle with being a mogul and a mom at the same time. Having a work-life balance got even harder for Kim when she and Kanye announced their divorce in early 2021.
When Kim and Kanye went public with their split, fans wondered how the two ultra-successful stars would divide their assets. Most recently, it was reported Kim paid Kanye a $23 million buyout for the Hidden Hills mansion they bought in 2014. Kim was reportedly adamant about continuing to call the estate home for herself and her kids. So far, things between the Wests have remained very amicable in the public eye. Kim recently spoke about her admiration for her talented ex.
In her cover story for Wall Street Journal, Kim opened up about her maintained friendship with Kanye (via Us Weekly). "Kanye will always be the most inspirational person to me,” Kim explained in her interview. She went on to say she keeps a professional relationship with Kanye, who is a fashion designer himself. Kim said Kanye continues to work with her on her different lines. "He has a piece of SKIMS himself and gives [the team] inspiration but also information," Kim said. "I think he enjoys the process.”
Kim's compliments of Kanye show a pattern of public respect and support between the two stars since their divorce announcement. Kim joined Kanye onstage at his Donda album release party this summer, participating in the show in a wedding dress reminiscent of their 2014 ceremony. Kanye was also front and center during Kim's record-breaking Saturday Night Live hosting gig this month to cheer her on. While some may think their close relationship as exes is strange, Kim reportedly loves to show their children their unwavering support of one another.
Kim is focused on building her empire while living the single life. The SKIMS CEO recently celebrated her 41st birthday among family and friends amid her divorce from Kanye. Keeping Up With The Kardashians fans are rooting for Kim to keep hustling as a mom, mogul and beloved star.
