In the last year, intimate documentaries about mega pop culture icons, Paris Hilton and Britney Spears, were released. After enjoying these insightful films, it’s hard not to wonder what other secrets celebrities are living with. One of the icons who may have a similar story to tell is the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star herself, Kim Kardashian.

On September 14, 2020, Paris Hilton released her documentary, This is Paris. In the 2000s, Hilton was seen as the fun-loving, party girl. But in her new documentary, viewers learned more about who the heiress truly is. More specifically, the movie covers abuse she endured as a teen and how that trauma pushed her to become the fantastical Paris. The film also dove into the fabrication and dramatization that comes with being a media personality. On February 5, 2021, Framing Britney Spears was released. The documentary covered Britney’s career, issues with the paparazzi and conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears. Tons of other celebrities have had documentaries too, such as Madonna, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift. But what about Kim Kardashian? She's even given hope of a documentary before as she once said, "I want to do documentary on my life and show all of this." Of course, Kris Jenner clapped back with, "Great idea, why don't you call it 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'?"

Kim might not be a pop star or an actress, but no one can deny that she’s an entertainer. Her career took off after Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in 2007, in addition to another explicit tape. The start of her career is definitely compelling, particularly since Hilton had a similar beginning with her leaked tape. In fact, Paris discussed her side of the story in relation to the scandalous video which tugged at the heartstrings of viewers. Fans would definitely be interested in hearing Kim’s side of the story in relation to her rise to fame too. Kardashian has alluded to coming clean about her 2007 tape, but only in relation to her kids. “I don’t know yet,” the reality star said when asked what she would tell her kids. “I mean, I have an idea, and I think I’m just gonna be super honest and real with them. That’s all you can really be.”

The start of Kim’s career is interesting, but so are other aspects of her life. Many wonder about her life before fame, such as her marriage at 19, obsessive compulsive tendencies and how that might have impacted her work, and the fact that she went to an all girls Catholic school. Life after her big break is absolutely compelling as well. Fans would definitely be interested in hearing more about her marriage to Kanye West and experiences maintaining fame. Especially since she once said, “Money was always the goal but I was obsessed with fame, like embarrassingly obsessed. I do agree that fame can be addictive, but now, my focus has shifted.” In addition, followers of the Kardashians and Jenners are intrigued by Kim’s dedication to criminal justice reform as this isn’t something she’s been super public about.

Even though Kim and her family share a lot of their life with the world, there’s definitely things we don’t know about her. Ultimately, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians clan is known for controlling their image and brand, similarly to Britney and Paris. Both these celebrity’s documentaries showed us that we don’t know the full story, we only touched the surface. We hope to learn more about the real Kim Kardashian one day as she’s among the most influential people of our generation.
