Throughout the year 2020, there have been many signs that Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian and her husband, Kanye West, were on the verge of a divorce. Now that news is circulating that Kim hired a lawyer to officially separate from Kanye, fans are looking back at all the signs suggesting this was Kim's plan all along.

Kim and Kanye began a relationship back in 2011 and tied the knot just three years later. The couple share four children together: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 2, and Psalm, 19 months. While the couple's relationship was often glamorized in the tabloids as "relationship goals," it seems now the pair may be headed towards a divorce.

There were several major signs that Kim and Kanye were planning to divorce in 2021. One of the first was the rapper's presidential campaign, which prompted him to make several public outbursts and controversial tweets about his family, even revealing he originally wanted to have an abortion the first time Kim got pregnant. The pair tried to work through their differences and Kanye’s mental health issues at their private ranch in Wyoming this past summer. At first, it seemed like the two were on a better path, as Kim shared many photos on Instagram of her, Kanye, and the kids on the ranch. Since then, Kanye has been absent from family photos on her social media. The last photo Kim shared of them was in November, where she put up a throwback photo of herself and Kanye on one slide, with a poem written by the rapper for her 30th birthday on another two slides. After that, Kayne was nowhere to be found in Kim's holiday pictures from December in Tahoe with her family. Kris Jenner brought along her long-time boyfriend, Corey Gamble, and Scott Disick was present as well.

After a series of odd tweets made by Kanye in early 2020, he went on a rant about wanting to divorce Kim ever since she met with rapper Meek Mill about prison reform. He shared a number of tweets that were damaging to Kim and their family, which caused concern from many of his fans about his mental state. Some of the tweets included Kanye admitting he tried to divorce Kim several times, claims that her family attempted to have him hospitalized, and even mentions of Meek Mill and Drake, who were both at the center of cheating rumors with Kim. Back in July, the couple went through a trial separation after Kanye's personal issues were becoming too much for the mother of four. Kanye, who suffers from bipolar disorder, has been through both manic and depressive episodes, which causes unpredictable behavior. Kim issued a public statement asking fans to show some sympathy for her and her family. She revealed that people who have a family member with Kanye's type of mental health issues knows how powerless the family can feel. This was a cry for help from Kim that she is struggling to stay in the marriage and protect her children from the situation.

Even though Kim and Kayne had quite a few amazing years together, it seems Kim is over Kayne not wanting to get the help he needs in order to save his family.
